Stayed here a little apprehensively as the outside looks like an ancient brothel, but for MYR 55 per night the room was certainly great value for money and a much better alternative than many the private backpackers rooms available (mostly more expensive than Bilton too).||Old sheets, towels and carpets but not a deal breaker as it was clean. Aircon worked wonderfully. Bathroom was clean. Hot shower. Clean bed. Relatively quiet (we stayed on Chinese New Year weekend and still slept like the dead both nights).||The staff were very friendly and their service was excellent. They helped us out with plug adaptors, thermos of hot water and anything else we requested including good bus directions and recommendations for sightseeing. Also provided us with two big bottles (3 litres) of complimentary water per night.||Bilton is also close to the waterfront, Shangri-la bus stop, Gaya market, Centre Point and the pretty city hall park.|| We headed five minutes down the street to the Sunday market in Gaya Street and were glad we didn't stay in this very noisy area on the weekend.||Overall, this was a great...
Read moreDirty dusty room, roaches crawling everywhere. Bedsheets, pillows, blanket are stinky, mattress is so worn the lower part has collapsed, making sleep very uncomfortable. Front desk staff who are husband and wife always quarrel or speak loudly past midnight with their friends, or watch movies on the phone and set the volume to loudest, I wasn't able to sleep. The old owner was so rude he asked me in a very impolite tone what time I would check out and asked that I vacant the room by 9am. There's no proper place to hang my clothes or towel, design of washroom is so weird getting in and out is super challenging. Overall a nightmarish experience. My advice is, spend a few more bucks and go elsewhere, horrible experience I won't come back again. Go check their Google review, I'm not the only victim. Stay away...
Read moreThe room needs makeover. the bedsheets, towels and pillow are old and very used, but clean and usable. However, i dare not put clothes in the wardrobe cabinet as it is old and dirty. The TV set is old and small, but functions. The aircond works great, cools fast. No problem with the hot shower, works pretty good. Overall, for a 2 night stay (I only came in the hotel room at night for sleep, outside activities from morning till evening), it came into my budget and provide a good resting place at night. Have concern in term of security, the door knob and small bolt lock seems flimsy, but there are some CCTV camera at the hallway. Stayed in Queen bed room for RM65, but if you have extra RM15~RM25, you can opt for better room at...
