A Perfect Stay for Both Backpackers and Travelers Looking for Comfort!
I originally booked for just one night, but I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended it to two nights, and eventually stayed for three! That alone says a lot about the quality and comfort this place offers.
What makes Aigoh really special is that it offers the best of both worlds — whether you prefer a quiet hostel dorm or a more private hotel-style room, this place caters to different types of travelers. I personally stayed in the dormitory, and it was honestly one of the quietest and most peaceful hostel dorms I’ve experienced. The atmosphere was calm, making it really easy to rest and recharge.
The entire property carries a charming heritage feel, reflecting the rich history and architecture of Penang’s old town, but it's also kept spotlessly clean and modern where it matters — from the rooms to the bathrooms and common spaces. Staying here feels like living inside a piece of Georgetown’s heritage, yet with modern comforts.
Wi-Fi was super fast and stable, which was great for both casual browsing and getting some work done during my stay.
What truly makes Aigoh stand out, though, is the warm hospitality of the host. From the moment I checked in, She was incredibly friendly, approachable, and always happy to share local recommendations her kindness made my stay even more memorable.
The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of Georgetown’s heritage zone, within easy walking distance to famous street art, historical buildings, cafes, hawker stalls, and markets. Despite being in such a central spot, the hostel and hotel maintain a very peaceful atmosphere inside.
Whether you’re a backpacker looking for a good night’s sleep or a traveler who prefers a quiet private room with a heritage vibe, I highly recommend Aigoh. It’s one of the few places that balances heritage charm, modern convenience, friendly service, and great value so well.
I will absolutely stay here again when I return to Georgetown. If you’re considering where to stay in Penang, this is a must-visit — you...
Read moreMy family n I stayed (5 adults) @ Aigoh Hotel yesterday n we experienced superb n awesome hospitality from all the staff. We booked 2 rooms n the rooms are super clean. The hotel is near to almost every hot areas in png. It's located in the center of georgetown near to KOMTAR. Some of the hot spots are Teow Cheow Cendul, Wall Paintings, Dim Sum Valet, Line Clear & Hameediyah Nasi Kandar n the best thing is we don’t have to drive to all these areas. The hotel is just walking distance to all these areas. The hotel manager En Mus is very humble, super active, smiley & friendly. He rendered the best customer service I ever got compared to other hotels i've stayed before. The public area staff Mr Alex is also helpful n he rendered us the same hospitality. We had a good memory from this hotel. The price is affordable and I will come back to this hotel - a beautiful hotel with excellent service. But the only thing that the hotel must improve is the WIFI coz it’s slow sometimes. The hotel is using DIGI so i hope the mgt can change...
Read moreWell for starters, we had a confirmed booking for the night, arrived at the property, the gentleman in the front even knew who we were and then decided to tell us that he had no space for the evening. He had plenty of time to email us or call us to let us know that there was an issue but chose not to. Not to mention he wouldn’t even let us sit inside in the cool aircon while we tried to make another reservation. He literally kicked us outside in the 37 degree heat. The only people we saw walking in were other Asians so I can only assume because I’m Spanish and my friend is white that he cancelled us due to some sort of racism. The property itself honestly looked terrible, no idea how it has 4 stars. Awful customer service, awful man at the front desk. Save yourself the hassle, especially if you’re not Asian, and...
