My local well known food caterer friend took me & anthr friend of us to this outlet for bfast this morng. 1st ly im please bcos of the cashless paid parking (nxt to cafe, excellent spot for elder folks ) are still available on a saturday morng. even though the line at the entrance is building.. We order a few things just to share and get the taste. The menu looks ok for a morng bfast. Both local and western, like roti jala, roti bakar kaya etc but of course no roti canai. Yes, nasi lemak, kueh tiaw and the like.. the drink came 1st n food came in rather quick after taking our seat which was after a que at the entrance...(orders were taken at the entrance... it ll be a jiffy if you r not choosy, we passes the menu to nxt customer juat to help them decide prior thy make thier order) crowd is building up when we were just about digging into the food. Staff seems rather busy running around, serving the tables... The sambal on the nasi lemak is spicy though but on the sweet side surprisingly..🤔.. ok.. We shared the kueh tiaw, which shud have been warmed at least before serving, bcos the one we had was rather cold. my caterer friend was ok with his hav boiled eggs which he had to take prior to food, a new diet program he just got into...😄 the friend on the roti jala seems enjoying it since he was rather quiet n focusing on the food when we were looking around the cafe set tup and decor, paint.. although th cafe have a 2nd floor space but we didnt see anyone seating there. but during the que, were told that most seats taken..🤭.. good ambiance with just fans,, which should be why the prices are fine with us.. i presume... Cafe has big space, tables too, to cater for large croud insyaaAllah. plse view photo to confirm... Satay, yes satay in the morning, (mybe a bit eer for penangites but.. who cares.) freshly cooked infront of entrance... Crowd are among locals and msian tourist, we met someone from perak nxt to our table trying out the place too.. insyaaAllah will come again to try other menus too.. for now keep it up.. (didnt check the loo, mybe...
Read moreFood Cucoq Bawang Kuah Kacang, served hot and crunchy. Very flavorful, and can see chunks of ingredients inside it. Kuah Kacang is perfect, not too salty, and can bite on the peanuts used in the sauce.
Sate Ayam 10 + Nasi Impit, chicken is very soft and tender. Not dry at all. Dip with the peanut sauce, perfect.
Apom Lenggang, very fluffy in the middle but crunchy at the side. Serves with their kaya paste which is honestly one of the best one I've ever tasted. It's sweet but not too sweet, and very fragant.
Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng, crunchy chicken drumsticks, very flavorful. Fragrant rice, but lacks coconut flavor. Sambal isn't spicy so it's suitable for children. Bonus point, crunchy ikan bilis (anchovies).
Nasi Lemak Bilis + Telur, basically just the basic nasi lemak without the ayam goreng.
Drinks Kopi Orang Kitah, coffee tastes very strong, blends well with the milk. Not overly sweet as well.
Teh Ais Madu, a nice mix of teh ais with honey. Not too sweet either, which is perfect.
Price Prices of food is very affordable, not overpriced. Very competitive especially with the great ambience, service, and most importantly food taste qualiy.
Ambience Wasn't that busy around 7+pm. Very cozy with the lighting, and isn't hot.
Service Very friendly staff. Ready to serve, and positive attitude. Food was served really quickly too. Can't speak for when it's busy time, as it wasn't busy when I was there.
Parking Plenty of parking next door but it's quite expensive as I was charged Rm8 merely entering less than an hour.
One note, I hope management will place a door handle for the door that has to be used to enter the toilet area. Had to hold onto the missing door handle circle hole to pull the door open. Also, toilet tank may need to be wiped a little as can see dust gathering.
Overall, a good experience with tasty food, and service. Will return again to try more of...
Read moreMakan pagi. Tiktok get me here.
Come here for breakfast. You better come here as early as you can or when the restaurant open at 7 a.m. If you are late 10 minutes, you will need to wait in line already.
Let me review by category: Food, Drinks, Side dish, Environment, Service.
When you arrive at the restaurant, you need to queue first to order. The waiter will give you the menu first while waiting for your turn to order. After then only they will assign you a table based on how many people in your group. Order first, pay after you finish eat.
Tiktok said the good one in the menu is Mi Kari (Curry Mee). For me, it’s good but not that special. The portion is okay, can fill up my big tummy. The curry also not too greast. For the food, my rating 3/5.
The drink, I order Kopi. Kopitiam style coffee. Not that special. Biasa saja. No more comment. 3/5
Side dish, I order Roti Bakar Arang. Maybe its call like that because the bread toast over charcoal. But the toast is too dry. Maybe not suit my preference. The the kaya and butter filling also is too little. If they put a generous filling, surely can enjoy the roti bakar.
Environment wise, clean, but a bit noisy cause many people here. But the staff here really like malay old sad songs. Its funny to play sad song in the morning. People yang single, heartbroken may not like🤣
Service, the staff really do a fast job. Food can get within 10 minutes.
Conclusion, tourist may like the food here. For non-penang, can try. I also recommend. At least try once in life. After already try, then decide whether to come back...
