I decided to try this place due to the high ratings I see from Google review. There is a lot of food to try here so probably my rating may not reflect the actual overall food taste and quality here. I ordered the tandoori chicken with garlic nan bread and also the panipuri and for drinks i ordered teh ais.

Teh Ais is definitely no good as it taste diluted. The tandoori chicken is a bit dry but still acceptable. Definitely lose to Kapitan tandoori which is always soft and juicy. But the garlic nan bread is good. I can really see chopped up garlics spread over the nan bread. The panipuri is very nice as well and I love it.

The restaurant itself is big with lots of table so it is quite comfortable but there is no air conditioning. I would love to give it a 5 stars rating as usually I am not that picky when it comes to food but sorry, I need to deduct 1 star. Will definitely come back again to check out...

Being of Asian origin myself, and a great cook to boot, I'm very pedantic in my choice of Indian foods. I don't like 95% of Asian restaurants, especially the meat dishes. When we first got to this place it looked cheap and cheerful, so I almost walked away. However, I'm so glad I didn't. Every single curry, paratha, sauce, soup and dessert we tried was delicious. Spicy, but yum! It is slightly on the cheap and cheerful side, in that all the plates etc. were plastic rather than ceramic. Also, the waiter was looking after a fair few tables on his own, so being there required a leetle patience. However, if you're not bothered about these little niggles, I'd highly recommend this place. Let me know how...

Service was not that good. We were not sure whom to call to place an order, there were lot of staff from Jayam grocery store moving around.

Although they have a big menu only a limited number of food options are available. There's a mini cooking area in the front, it can be extremely noisy when preparing certain dishes. Really bad presentation, we were served a small portion on a big plate with food thrown over. Taste wise the food was average.

No Aircon. The place can accommodate 50+ pax but then since it's new just 2 other tables were occupied. It's a long way to go and improve before they can catch up with established...

Jayam was easily my favourite restaurant in George Town. We ate here several times during our stay and would rush back if we were in the area. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and have good recommendations. There were a couple of things unavailable, but they were always quick to offer an alternative and never steered me wrong The food is beautiful. Every dish we sampled at the restaurant was full of flavour, a good-sized portion, and great value for money. The naans, in particular, were good, but my standout dish was Kadai Paneer.
