This is an Authentic? Korean Restaurant hidden in an Obscure Corner of the Mall away from the Main Shopping Traffic. The Place is Tidy and Cleanly Well Maintained although I feel the Lighting here feels a Tad Dark.
There are 2 Major Red Flags I encountered here, one of which is the Very Domineering Fierce Korean Boss who was practically shouting at me when I tried to take photos of this place. I personally feel he could have been nicer about it instead of Shouting at me.
Although the incident never escalated further, it gave me a Very Bad 1st Customer Impression of this place. Due to Text Limit Constraints, I won't go into details and you can read them in my FB Food Blog.
I will also put in my Detailed Full Description of how I think about the Food, so if you are interested to know more, come visit my Facebook Food Blog: "A Solo Singaporean's Guide to JB Foods (And More!)" to to view the Full Review with Photos.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM40.60 (S$12.40) including Service Charges and Taxes, I actually thought this was a Decent and Affordable Lunch Set for what it is.
The Whole Set was Very Well Presented. Rice Amount was Acceptable, and the Amount of Meat given in the Hotplate Platter were not Stingy. The 6 Different Banchans were Impressive and you don't even have to order any Drinks since a Whole Flask of Plain Water is provided Free of Charge on top of that.
Although not Super Amazing High Quality, the Whole Set felt Satisfying to eat and because of the Huge Variety of Items, I never got bored and it felt like I was eating a Mini Buffet.
Ultimately, I really want to recommend this place, because this Set Lunch I had was Decent Tasting, and felt Value for Money. Being Shouted at by the Boss didn't feel nice let me tell you that. This Korean Boss lacks Basic Customer Service.
Despite this place getting my Lowest Score, I still feel that you should give this a Try if you are interested in trying out some Korean Cuisine. (Although I'm not sure if this is considered Really Authentic or not since I have not visited Korea myself yet.)
I hope you have a Better Dining Experience than I did. Such a Pity, this place could have easily gotten a Much Higher Score.

Read moreCame here around June! Here's my thoughts on this restaurant.
Firstly if you're new to City Square, it's definitely gonna take a while to find this place. Bornga is mostly like a kbbq but fancier and there will be server to help you cook the meat so you can enjoy them!
I have noticed that if you never order any more meat for i would say around 15 mins or so, they will transfer the coal they use on your table to another table ( most likely to reuse and save some cost, no complains as they are quite hygienic of their things).
Just remember to order a bit more if you feel like you are a big eater so you can enjoy the meats slowly after.
As for your bags you can put them at the front of the first row seating area to avoid clusters, bags were all safe and untouched.
The meats were nicely cooked and its very well marinated! If youre locals, it can definitely be quite pricey as CS are usually visited by singaporeans but I would say it was a fair trade if youre in the mall.
They gave a lot of vegetables and banchan, personally love the texture of the thick kimchi, well marinated but not too sour. There's also a potato banchan which was really good as well, i actually finished them despite being quite full.
I also ordered Mul-naengmyeon and this place serves it COLD cold like how you usually see them served in korea? Some places serves it with just a little icey but this one was ice slush broth which was fine at first but was quite overwhelming after a while even with the mustard.
Personally not craving this and might not come back a second round unless my friend wanted to try it out but would recommend to try it out if youre singaporean, if not wrong you could pay...
Read moreWell I passed this place decades yet to go in once. I finally entered and was quickly brought to a table next a a couple. I don't know was it the Malaysian culture, the whole restaurant was huge and empty yet they dump me next to a couple. There are literally tons of tables around and we could all have a little privacy yet they choose to cluster you next to someone. 2 seats down I would not even bat an eyelid but side by side .. so the couple and I were kind of awkward as I literally 30cm next to her partner. When I tried to order I realised the entire crew was Burmese. Asking any questions will be a relay run when this server will ask the next server and on and on. I ask a simple question of does the pancake too large for a single person and after deliberately going round and round and they told me no. That was even after I ordered a lunch set meal. Totally not professional to gauge for customers even when customers request clarification. The pork stir fried came with assorted side dishes. Pork is good. Chewy and coated with kimchi like sauce. Spicy and savoury at the same time. Sides are rather disappointing. Cucumber is refreshing, lettuce salad is fresh, the rest are just adding up the number. Kimchi as a symbolic representation of a Korean restaurant is no better than a store brought instant pack. Pancake is a plate size , squid is dead meat, not chewy and definitely frozen variety. Ask for bean base chilli is yet another charade session. In the end I could not stuff all the food in leaving a waste of half a pancake and assorted sides mostly untouched. Total bill came up to almost 24USD for two mains. Big portions but big...
