Outstanding Italian-style pizza! Probably THEE best in town. They definitely stay true to using Italian ingredients as much as possible, as seen throughout their menu–even their drinks are Italian! (San Pellegrino, illy coffee, Italian beers etc.)
We were a party of 4 and we had the Caprese salad, the Diavola Pizza, the Margherita, and one of their Today's Specials. All of them were absolutely delicious. Caprese was refreshing. Pizza crust is perfectly cooked & charred, fluffy yet crisp enough on the edges and thin but still chewy towards the middle where the toppings are. As soon as we had our first bites, we knew we were coming back and that this was the place to go and to recommend for pizza! Tony, the owner was a gracious and friendly host, attending to all tables alongside his staff. He came over to check on our party a handful of times to make sure we're taken care of and we even had a brief conversation with him which we enjoyed.
They've got chili flakes if you want more heat with your pizzas but the highlight to us was their special chili oil that was no-joke spicy but satisfying for those of us who like a kick with our meals. Don't forget to request for it if you like the heat with your pizza! Pizzas come in one size only. Four of us had three pizzas and were stuffed at the end of our meal. We saw a few tables of two that had two pizzas, so about one pizza per person on average if you're thinking about how much to order for your table. Definitely come hungry regardless!
After your meal, I recommend staying for dessert here. Their gelatos are flavorful and satisfying! Had the pistachio and stracciatella (it's fior di latte AKA milk + choc shavings for the unfamiliar) and they were divine and provided for an even more perfect ending to an already satisfying meal. If we weren't already so full, would have loved to try out all the other dessert options they had.
Mild and tiny downside to our experience here is they don't serve plain/tap water to all tables/guests. For a restaurant of this stature in this city, you'd expect it - hell, even simple cafés here serve guests plain water on the house - but that's not the case, so you have to order (i.e. pay) for any drink/beverage if you want one, and that includes water! Not a big deal–we get it, restaurants need to earn from their beverages too–but definitely more of a woulda-been-nice situation. Especially since they've got a really solid dessert menu, some water towards the end of the meal would honestly be nice to cleanse the palate.
Reservations strongly recommended especially for dinner time and on the weekends. Plenty of locals, tourists, and expats alike were dining here which speaks volumes about the quantity of the food. Highly recommend them. Would be back and will be recommending this to people for sure. Kudos to Tony and the Heritage Pizza...
Read more4.7/5.0 is a very high rating thus I came here with significant high expectation. The restaurant ambient was nice and comfortable. Except the chair was a bit springy, not something I like as a dining chair. But that's just me.
I wanted to order tap water but that's not offered. So I ordered a Coke at RM7 and two tiny mineral water 250ml at RM2 each. Not sure why would the restaurant decide to serve 250ml water. When a common size is 500ml.
Service was good. Something I would expect for the price I paid. There was a missing knife and the waiter brought me one instantly when I requested for it.
The was a leaflet where I can put a tick next to the pizza I wanted which was convenient. I did not feel rush to order and I took all the time I needed to go through the ingredient for different pizzas.
I ordered a Margherita and a Parma. While waiting for my pizza, I saw three tables of dinner left with a lot of leftover. I thought they had ordered too much. Not until I had my pizza and I sort of understand why. Both Neapolitan-style pizza came in thin crust but with thick cornicione. The rim of the pizza was a bit chewy instead of crispy. The flavor is okay though, not something that I would compare with Domino's. Obviously those dinners preferred crispy and thinner pizza rim. The Margherita was not the best I have had. 2/5. The sauce was insufficient, neither was the cheese. I would expect string of cheese to be seen when I pulled out a slice. That did not happen.
The Parma pizza was better. The chef was generous with the amount of Parma ham topping. However something was missing in the flavor. Other than the slight saltiness, I did not taste the fragrance, sweetness and nuttiness flavors that I was expecting from the cured ham. 3/5.
I'm not Mark Wiens so I'm no way qualified as a critic. These are just my opinion based on my previous experiences including the pizzas I had in overseas and KL. If you like pizza, you should also check out a place in Lorong Raja Chulan, which in my opinion is the best pizza in KL. Not mentioning the outlet name as I think that's impolite. Heritage Pizza is unfortunately not...
Read moreFood wise I have to give credit for the fresher ingredients used in the pizza. However if you compare to a proper Neapolitan pizza , the dough is simply not to the standard . I don’t have to explain how a Neapolitan styled pizza should taste like here .
Service 1 star . From the moment we first step in . There is this Chinese lady asked “reservation ?” , my wife said yes and she went in the shop WITHOUT any acknowledgment given, expecting us to follow her in ? She finally realised and turned back , guided wife to the table when wife stood front of glass door still not knowing what to do next since no instruction/ acknowledge given . Through my observation the same lady also displayed hostility to those people walk in without reservation tried to get a table . Obviously you are fully booked . But hey chilled out lady , at least smile and rejecting them politely . You just being too stressed out , to your customer to your own staff and shouldn’t you feel happy when many customers are walking up to your door wanting to patronage ?
Atmosphere 1 star - it supposed to be 4-5 stars throughout dinning , but towards the end of our dining session the waiter walked up and told us our 2 year old kid is making noise and causing disturbance . We are to ally appalled in the comment . Our kid is cranky and kids being kids .What about the guys across our table are giggling and laughing loudly , having a good time with friends, should they lower their voice too ? It’s a casual Pizzeria and you are telling me a 2 year old kid is noisy (the waiter even explained and compared some other kid not as noisy) ? Unbelievably discriminating . I highly suspect the message passed down from another manager with spec and tattoo . Shame on you and please learn some customer service .
Overall summary . So so not the best Pizza in KL city centre . There are many more better ones serving in chain stores within KL city centre . Restaurant’s general staff / waiters are polite , but managers lacking customer service . Too much gate keeping and clearly shown by Mr.Tony (the boss) replying criticism in...
