Jomstay - Majestic Suites — Hotel in Perak

I didn’t want to give this a bad rating since I could tell the host was really trying hard to make this place but I need to share few things about this unit and building in general. Some of these aren’t the hosts’ fault but you do need to consider these things for your stay:

1. Very noisy all night every day. There is a semi-abandoned building across the street that is filled with bats making noises. We thought they were birds at first coming from the park across the street but it’s actually bats.
2. There is a significant sewer smell from the restroom connected to living room - It’s bad. Running the fan doesn’t help since the fan dumps into the laundry room next to the kitchen. The other master restroom is fine. Since it was only 2 people staying here we were okay. We still used it but it smelled the whole time.
3. All the a/c units in the room point directly to the bed and pillow area. We had to sleep with a pillow over our heads overnight so we wouldn’t get sick, and it would be too hot without a/c. This I imagine is going to be the case for the entire building.
4. Don’t walk down the big street behind the building. Alley is okay, but next to the 7-11 is a bunch of homeless men sleeping on the floor and they just do their bodily business out in the open.
5. They have late check out for 30RM an hour when available. They offered us one free hour of late check out with a Google 5 star review. So they are swaying some of their reviews. So take the reviews with a grain of salt.

Overall the unit looks nice, is clean, has decent view, and location is great. Host is responsive - but these issues within the unit make it difficult to stay here.

One other note - the Google location pin for this building is wrong. It’s actually the building next door - maybe Jomstay supplies management for both - either way - this review is for the...

Estabamos muy contentos de llegar y conocer la ciudad.. El apartamento muy bonito, las instalaciones bueno... Podrían mejorar ... Lo que nos arruinó el día fue la Piscina... Después de un día con mucho calor y lleno de visitas culturales queríamos ir a bañarnos y nos sorprendió muchísimo que no dejen. Mi marido bañarse con un bañador hasta lacrodilla negro porque el guardia de seguridad decía q eso era un pantalón de calle 🙈🙈, somos Españoles, pero hemos viajado mucho y esto nunca nos pasó. A mí como Mujer en países Musulmanes entiendo que puedo tener problemas por querer bañarme en Bañador o Bikini ... bajamos a cambiar el bañador de el, mí marido optó por otra bermuda con cordón igual de largo y más clasico... peo sorpresa!! Decían q como tenía palmeras era con motivo playero y no podía ser .. jajaja vamos q o vas tal cual los dibujos de la foto o si no no te bañas....de hecho esq tras esto ni lo intenté porq iba a bañarme en camiseta con una braga Bikini negra ... Pero.... Cualquiera decía .. jajaja TREMENDO! NUNCA...
