This hotel is quite conveniently located for both Ipoh Parade shopping mall and walking to the old town. There are also eateries and cafés in the vicinity. It is usually described as Ipoh's best budget hotel which I chose mainly because it has its own car park. Street parking involves buying a parking coupon.|||My room was near the stairs on the second floor and was large and quiet, as per my request, as the room window overlooked the car park and not the street. The room walls were painted white with a wooden floor and grey window curtains which were partly broken as the left side refused to slide across the window.||There was a comfortable enough double bed to sleep on with some other furniture, namely a comfortable chair, a desktop and chair and a two-shelved top on which there was an old cathode-ray tube TV and remote control. There was also a mirror placed on the desktop and a bedside table with a telephone and ashtray. Two small bottles of water and 2 glasses were also provided plus a wardrobe with a few clothes hangers. The room had aircon which did work well enough. The WiFi sometimes worked and sometimes didn't and wasn't always switched on. ||Outside the bathroom door, there was a small washbasin with a mirror mounted above it while the bathroom itself was small, but came came with a wall-mounted shower which worked well enough. |||There were quite a few ants and one mosquito in the room which I managed to kill with my own fly spray.|||Given the price of RM73 + RM10 foreigner tax, this hotel is very acceptable and can be recommended.|I would stay here again the next time...
Read moreThis hotel is cheap, which is the best thing going for it. If you are staying only a night or two in Ipoh, it is a good option but if longer than that it might be better to go slightly upmarket. ||Pros - the hotel is quite close within a 6-7 minute walk of the Ipoh Parade shopping mall and also within 5 minutes of local hawkers. It is also only 20 minutes walk from the Old Town area. The shower was quite powerful and had plenty of warm water. The beds were comfortable and the A/C sufficient. Wi-fi was okay.||Cons - very basic so the room doesn't have a kettle or complementary water, tea etc. There is no fridge either and the TV is an old analogue model tuned (badly) into mostly Malay, Indian, Chinese etc channels and no remote. The room could have been cleaner as there was a layer of dust on some surfaces.||Overall an okay option but you could probably find something nicer for a few...
Read moreOur other accomodation arrangements fell through so we had to quickly find another place to stay the night. Called this hotel for pricing and the staff didn’t speak English although we managed with my very basic Malaysian numbers. RM75/night plus RM50 deposit which is returned upon check out. It’s in a central location and had a 24hr laundry-mat nearby. The room itself was relatively clean albeit old and dated. They provided cigarettes trays in the room, so we might’ve gotten lucky because the halls smelt like cigarettes smoke but our room didn’t. Thank goodness. If you need a cheap(ish) place to stay for the night this would be an ok option but I would definitely ask to check the room first if you’re not into sleeping in a...
