Came when there was nearly zero business and they still could not coordinate the prep from front of house to back of house.
char siew and crispy roast pork was served warm but the noodles only arrived a good ten minutes later, so the meat was cold by that time.
The signature roast duck had a thin slightly crispy skin and the meat is smooth. Very light herbal taste. I prefer more robust.
Crispy roast pork 50% fat but well layered, so it was nice. More hard crispy than crunchy crispy.
Char siew looks good but a little heavy on the sweetness.
The crispy lard noodles came with anemic pale brown chunks of lard but the noodle itself had no lard taste. Overall the high-blood:pressure-inducing noodle, though al dente, was too salty.
Pomelo smoothie is not bad. Can order again.
Overall, a mixed experience. Not sure if it's worth returning. But if I were to return, would have the duck and roast pork and maybe rice instead...
Read moreIntolerable service from the waitresses and unpleasant taste and terrible quality of foods ordered. Rice are cooked with porridge like texture, only informed us when served. This quality of rice is detrimental to any Cantonese roast meats restaurants. No alternative provided ahead of time when the food operators are well aware of the overly moist rice. Ordered roast duck and roasted pork, it have a weird chemical note. The ginger braised duck were poorly cooked using left over bony parts(neck, wings, and etc) of the duck use to cook and served to us. The sauce of the duck is watery, lumpy and lack of flavor. Waitress that took our order didn't bother to serve us properly, left out my order of the braised sour vegetable and didnt bother informing me that they no longer serve hot soy milk that was written on the menu. Assume and expect me to accept whatever condition of the food and...
Read moreI had been wanting to try this shop for a while, and I finally got the chance. I ordered a lower quarter of their signature roast duck (which is basically the same as herbal duck), along with a small portion of roast meat and BBQ meat (the dark and sweet variety). The duck was average, and the meat was quite tough. The char siu was disappointing, and the seasoning didn’t suit my taste. There was too much fat in the roast meat compared to the actual meat. The daily soup was salty, and the “oil rice” turned out to be Hainanese chicken rice instead. At RM71 for the portion, the price is definitely on the higher side. I’ll be looking for other food options in the future. The staff seemed poorly trained and didn’t understand my requests. I had to ask for a Chinese-speaking staff member for assistance.
