A few positives:Being able to use the key code to come in and out was very convenient. The furnishings were modern and comfortable. The two bedroom apartment was spacious enough for a family of four. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cutlery.
Disliked · Though Caliza is technically located in Roma Norte, it's a good 10 minute walk to the nicer area with the more upscale restaurants and shops. The immediate area around Caliza was a bit run down. Even though we were on a higher floor, the noise from the street was annoying at all hours of the night. Management is aware of this, so they offer earplugs at the front desk. The toiletries were not well stocked and they were supposed to clean the apartment once during our stay but that didn't happen. I brought it to their attention and they offered a 10% refund but I have yet to receive that despite several follow ups. One morning we had scheduled a very early morning excursion so we thought we'd grab coffee from the lobby, but the coffee bar was also not stocked. There's a spa on site, and I inquired about services a few times but never received information. I loved Mexico City and plan to return but sadly, I would not stay at Caliza again. For the amount we paid, we would have been better off getting two rooms at a hotel with...
Read moreThis place is good overall, but I think it lacks in the most important things you need in an apartment: low noise, good wifi and good bed. We were on the third floor and every night it felt we were sleeping right in the middle of the street because of the level of noise coming through the windows. These windows have zero isolation and we couldn’t sleep for the first two nights. They are supposed to give you ear plugs, but they ran out it it. On top of that, the beds are hard like concrete. I had to make a cushion with two duvets on top. The wifi works great once you get it to work. They did a weird ip configuration that is all messed up and thank god, my partner has IT knowledge abd fixed it, so if you plan to work from there, beware of that. The space is nice overall and they supply you with good amount of towels and amenities. The location is amazing, however it in a very busy corner full of street food vendors. The staff is very nice, understanding and welcoming. They offered us cleaning service,...
Read moreGreat Airbnb that was like a hotel! The aesthetic is on point. There is a kitchen and fridge which was really nice to not rely on eating out all the time. The rooms were actually bigger than expected. We liked the location because it was 10-15 minute walk from everything! We felt safe with our own unique code to enter the building and our rooms. We had 9 people and slept comfortably. Our only issue was no AC. When you open the doors and windows you get bit by bugs (would’ve been nice to have screens on the windows and doors). Everywhere in Mexico City its city sounds so bring earplugs if that bothers you. The people working were extremely nice and very fast with getting anything you ran out of. We did find out they clean only if you stay 5+ days. So just be aware of that. Nearby is public transportation, electric bikes, and Ubers are super cheap! The street food nearby is your best...
