We had heard good things about Angelopolitano, but our server told us they have new management, and our experience was less than pleasing. They offered a non-alcoholic piña colada, but ended up not being able to make it. The rest of the menu was quite limited, only appetizers and the current seasonal specials, chiles rellenos and mole dishes. All of the food was good, but we wouldn't return due to the experience. We had the setas and champiñones ceviche, but they didn't serve it with chips, tostadas, salmas, anything, just a bowl of mushrooms. We also had the tacos árabes, which were very good and presentable, but the way they cut them, made it very hard to eat. I couldn't tell if it was a taco (eaten by hand), or if I was supposed to use a fork and knife, as the salsa and onions were on the outside of the tacos. We also had a chile en nogaga, for which the restaurant is famous. I don't love them to begin with, but my Mexican wife said it was good. I also had a glass of wine and a beer. The downstairs area of the restaurant looks really nice, but we were seated in a small room off to the side upstairs, where the ceiling seemed to be falling apart and leaking (they claimed from the recent rain). Two parties, us and another larger group, moved tables after getting dripped on. We paid with credit card, and the server requested that we tip him in cash because it takes two weeks to get paid their credit card tips.

This has to be one of the best meals of my life. The service was beyond excellent, the waiter was genuinely kind and extremely attentive. The food was amazing. We ordered guacamole and it was topped with pomegranate seeds and to my surprise they brought out sautéed crickets to top it with. It was incredible. I’ve never really enjoyed a non spicy guac but this was a whole new level of flavors I’d never had before. We also ordered some sopes de jaiba (crab on fried corn meal). This was more standard fare. Pretty good and spicy though the crab flavor got lost in the corn. For my main course I got the mole tradicional. It was INCREDIBLE. Chocolate, molasses, sesame, and hot pepper spice come through together so well. I used to hate mole. This restaurant made me a believer. Had the corn cake for dessert. It didn’t have as much corn flavor as I’d like but the dulce de leche and the consistency of it more than made up for it. I was surprised the place wasn’t really busy. It deserves some fame as far I’m concerned. Though, I hear it gets busy for lunch.

A VERY pleasant find. Absolutely delicious Puebla-style food, with different types of mole and Chiles en nogada (which in my wife's words were some of the best she's tried, and she's a connoiseur). The fideo seco, super spicy caldo de hongos and chalupitas were excellent entrées, followed by the traditional and confit duck-filled Chiles en nogada and enmoladas poblanas (again, with a generous, fragrant fill of confit duck with citrus-peel notes and beautiful presentation.) The only disappointment was with the desserts. We ordered the tequila flan (too much tequila which made it taste bitter) and the tres leches cake with rompope (the sour cream icing clashed with the rest of the flavors in a fairly unpleasant way). Other than that it's sure to become one of our favorite true regional Mexican restaurants in Downtown CDMX. Very reasonably priced, good bang for your buck 👌👌

This is a place just for people who love food. Why? because it is expensive but the quality of food is outstanding. I say this becasue I had a pretty bad experience here but not because of the place, I came with my co-workers and they didn't appreciate the flavor of the food, they just focused on the price, so if you don't want to spend much money this place is not for you.

Getting back to the place, it's a beautiful place, you'll feel comfortable once you inside. Talking abot food, this place is about Puebla's food, specially Mole, they can serve you every varaition that exists in Mexico like Mole rojo, Mole verde and even Blackberry Mole which is arkwardly delicious.

As I remarked before, the taste of the Mole here is more than just great, it's spicy and it's edible for a foreigner because it's not so hot (Picante). There're other options apart from Mole, there'ra Chalupas in you want a good appetizer and the wine here is delicious.

The service is great, waiters are always near and offer you all the options, One bad point is that sometimes you'll have to wait long time while before ther serve your food.

You should come here but not so often because the...
