There were only two positive items that I could find, one being that the staff at the hotel were so friendly that it was a great start to the hotel experience and also that the air conditioning worked a treat.
However, there were so many negatives to staying here but I believe that they are actually easy fixes. Firstly the mattress may as well have been a Mayan relic, it was so old and uncomfortable with springs either having crumpled or just sticking into you, I don’t know how anyone sleeps in this hotel. This can be fixed by please getting new/newer mattresses for paying guests. When we arrived in our room we were looking forward to showering and cooling off, but to our dismay there was no water in our room. We went to reception and gratefully received help and the attached video will show the water pressure we had for the duration of our stay. I don’t imagine other hotels have this issue nearby so should be fixable. I cannot fathom why the curtain was too small for the window, but as the corridor lights do not turn off at any time, it makes the room feel as though it is daytime at all points of the day. The picture attached shows 11pm in our room. This could be fixed by just adding a bigger and blackout curtain. Finally the noise, always expect some levels of noise when staying in a shared area but I feel that signs could be put up to ask guests to please limit noise in shared areas after 10/11pm. Sadly I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until the aforementioned...
Read moreI enjoyed my stay very much. The location was very close to 5th Ave, about a 30 second walk.
Edit: my prior review was for a different hotel that I mixed up with Coco de Mar. Corrected review below.
The hotel is very relaxed and low key. It’s not a glam resort, but it’s a cozy comfortable place to stay. The service is great, but very chill. If you don’t ask, they won’t bother you. If you do ask, they’ll cheerfully help.
The rooms all start on the second floor, and there’s no elevator. If stairs are a challenge, that’s something to consider.
My room was basic and comfortable. Decent bed, nice pillows, a smallish tv, night stands, and a rack wardrobe thing. No hangars though, which was a bit eh. I didn’t ask for any, but I’m sure they would have given me some if I had. I did not have a chair, which I would have liked to have. Nice bathroom, good water pressure, nice towels. The windows open to the hallway and are frosted white, and impossible to see through, though they let light in.
They also had a water dispenser on the 2d floor, which is really nice. I could refill my water bottle and didn’t need to buy water constantly.
The noise wasn’t too bad. Every so often I could hear street noise, but it wasn’t super loud. The noise of people walking by the room is more pronounced. Luckily it wasn’t very busy.
I liked this hotel and would stay there again. Keep in mind it’s not perfect, but it is comfortable and clean, well located, reasonably...
