This was honestly one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I have no idea how it’s rated as a five-star on Google. It’s hidden in a small alley, super basic, and doesn’t even have a restaurant. When we arrived, the male staff member at the front desk was nice and welcoming, so we had some hope. But things went downhill fast the next day. We specifically arranged a cleaning time with both the front desk and the cleaning staff, even hung the cleaning sign on the door. Yet, when we came back, the room was still a complete mess. When we went downstairs to talk to the reception about it, the experience was beyond frustrating. The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude, acting like we owed her something. I told her, “You said you’d clean, but it wasn’t done,” and she literally ignored us while typing on her computer and snapped, “Talk to me slower.” Then she said, “Well, I can’t do anything about it now,” in the most dismissive tone imaginable. Even when my boyfriend tried to stay calm and reason with her, she wouldn’t look him in the eye and kept saying, “Don’t raise your voice at me,” in such a nasty, aggressive way. It wasn’t even about the cleaning at that point — her attitude was so horrible it made the whole situation feel even worse. I get that things can go wrong, but the way she handled it was appalling. When I go through all the comments I realize this is not the first time... Avoid at all costs.

I came to this hotel after a retreat because they have the nice big soaking tub. I thought it would be nice with the spa to just relax. Unfortunately the room points into an open atrium that echoes all noise and voices from below or above. My room was so loud from the music above at the pool or talking below from the workers who would scrap tables or chairs across the floor. And there is a water fountain that makes noise as well. So over all too much sound stimulation. The king bed was nice clean and the room was in order. The shower never got hot water but the bathtub did no problem. When I arrived the front desk didn’t offer me any water or anything. When I requested water to them they said they were out and I said what about the restaurant they said I would need to pay. Breakfast has about 6 different options for you to choose from that are included in your stay. Service was slow for this meal. I would not recommend this hotel if you were looking for peace and quiet. Also no coffee maker in the room or blow dryer. It does have mini fridge.

Worst hotel ever ! I wouldn’t stay here again, first off they didn’t make it clear on the website that they were going through construction and new management, when we arrived the name of the hotel was completely different, they stated they had breakfast, restaurant on property, pool bar , and they did not have none of those things and when I asked they said due to the new hotel change and construction they had did not offer these things , I think it’s unprofessional when hotels don’t mention that online before booking definitely a scam and to top it off the rooms were very tiny nothing like the pictures , they never answer the front desk , and the lady in the front desk had to come into our room to give us a different WiFi password because the hotels was not working, and their was a roach in our room oh and every time we would try to use our key card to get in our room we would be locked out and had to get a new one multiple times ! do not stay here.

a basic hotel, you are welcomed by a security where you do not immediately feel safe. a friendly greeting from the receptionist, this if you find them of course, especially towards the late hours. you enter an uninviting restaurant/bar where you will see staff sitting undisturbed looking at their mobile phone/laptop and giving the feeling that they don't like being there. in this restaurant you will be able to have breakfast very late (from 9 am) and from a VERY limited menu. the rooms are at least clean, the beds small for a double bed. nothing more to say about it. the rooftop bar / swimming pool was unsociable, here too staff who showed no interest in their work, if you found them of course, constant electronic music in the background with knocking and sawing of the construction works in the building next door. you don't want to sit here all day. ABOUT THE SAFETY IN THE HOTEL. Plya del carmen and all of México are not known for being safe, but since you see several patrols on the street you would think they have it under control. An incident at the hotel happened on the penultimate night of our stay. at 1 am a very loud constant knocking started, there was shouting. we thought there might be urgent work to be done, so let it go. if this continues and gets worse we thought something else was going on . we tried to contact the reception but there was no answer. hotel was full so we thought, there must be someone who calls the police. in the two hours that this lasted we did not see any police from our window. we thought there was security. this lasted for 2 hours and the calm had returned. didn't sleep much that night. the next morning i went to the front desk to ask what was going on. they knew nothing about it and went to look at the camera images and give us more information. During the day I asked several times but did not receive a proper explanation. till now i don't know if our lives were in danger or not but i didn't feel safe anymore. I don't come...

Gorgeous, unpretentious, quiet, comfortable & secure, Soul Beach Boutique Hotel & Spa delivers @ an affordable price.||We felt extremely looked after by all the staff; Erick, Axel, Osvaldo, Alisa, Rosalie, Felix,Hector, Aldo & ILario alllll made us feel taken care of.||What a beautiful stay we had.||Eight nights of being spoiled.||Breakfast (we don't like to have to "hunt" for Breakfast, wherever we are) was simple & perfect,,offering familiar basics + a few Mexican specialties.||We particularly liked the hours; Breakfast available until NOON every day,,bonus.||||Housekeeping was 5* & Front desk staff were always attentive to anything we requested.||||It was our Anniversary & I had messaged prior to our arrival details about it.||We were pleasantly surprised with a beautiful floral & creative display in our room.||||Attention to detail & helpful/friendly staff totally endeared us to this 31 room Boutique Hotel.||Intimate/quiet setting yet just steps away from lively & often loud 5th Avenue.||||EASY to get too when arriving by taxi or walksble from ADO bus (from Cancun Airport, for example)||||Rooftop Pool & Bar offered a real pleasant escape from alllll the "touristy" stuff going on down on 5th Ave.||Bartender Erick always made sure we were looked after, yet wasn't "in our face" or pushing further drinks on us either.||||The owner needs to be commended on hiring such pleasant & team oriented staff; all of them were always accommodating & approachable.||||Perhaps a few more surfaces in our Suite to "lay things out", & maybe adding black tea options to the tea offerings @ breakfast, but even just mentioning that seems so "first world problems". & so minor.||||We'd definitely stay here again.||We travel frequently & have experience/exposure to the "good the bad & the ugly".||||This little gem definitely ranks up there as one of our most comfortable accommodations.||||Book your stay @ Soul Beach, you'll be in good hands!||||Cheers, ||Gord...
