Booked for 3 nights, loved every aspect of our stay.||ROOM: Clean, daily cleaning also, air conditioning, wifi, fresh towels daily, hot water with good pressure, no hairdryer. The only downside is nonexistent soundproofing between the room, the bathroom and the rest of the house in general, but this is universal across all moroccan guest houses, so you'll just have to broaden your comfort zone and pick up some ear plugs.||HOUSE: Good as new, with a common chill out/breakfast area downstairs and a terrace on the roof. Trees grow right inside, attracting small birds that will cheer you right out of bed in the morning, which is lovely rather than an inconvenience.||NEIGHBOURHOOD: Get the transfer service to the guest house - worth every penny and more. Very nice gentlemen picked us up at the airport on a spacious minivan and delivered us to the guesthouse. Even if you take a taxi there is very little chance you'll find your way from a drop off point. Surrounding streets will seem rough to Morocco virgins, but you soon realize there is nothing to fear. Also take the business card at the house, it's got a small map on the back with the name of the bab nearby - it will come in handy when you'll have to tell taxi drivers were to go.||STAFF: Everyone is extremely nice. Someone is always at the house, so if you need any assistance there is always someone to ask.||BREAKFAST: Selection of jams and honey, local bread, coffee, tea, milk, local yoghurt, fresh orange juice, and delicious local pancakes - enough to sustain you until you accumulate enough resolve to start picking food from medina streets.||PAY: No surprises, everything as per booking plus...
Read moreIt was my first time to visit Marrakech, and as a solo traveller. Dar Zouar surpassed my expectations. My suite was roomy, comfortable, full of character, and very clean. Breakfast was hearty and filling. Dinner was prepared for me on two occasions and it was well executed, with freshly cut roses adorning my table. The hustle and bustle of the souk and streets of Marrakech was in stark contrast with the peace and quiet inside Dar Zouar. It’s true that the riad was initially hard to find, but I got the hang of it within a few trips back and forth. The rooftop was excellent for relaxation. The staff were amazing, especially the two gentlemen who assisted me and ensured a lovely stay. Sorry I can’t spell their names but I remember them very well. I also had a relaxing Balinese massage with Corine and had a chat with Jean-Marc. Dar Zouar is great value for money. I do hope that I return soon and stay again at Dar Zouar. Thank you for...
Read moreDar Zouar is a lovely traditional Riad, through the door, once located, you are taken into a very pleasant court yard, used for lounging and meals. The room is clean, well layed out, pleasantly furnished, peaceful and calm. There are staff on site to let you in and out, who are helpful and polite. A comfortable and pleasant space to stay. Breakfast is plain and simple, setting you up for the day. Staff are both friendly and helpful in giving directions in this part of the city, which is away from main road. The only down side is the location, where you will need to be met by the Bab Taghzout arch to be escorted, as unfortunately taxis do get lost, which you will do initially, without exact directions to Dar Zour. Possibly a precise map should be issued to all guests with confirmation bookings. Booking was easy and hassle free. Yes, a great place to stay, if not too concerned of local area being off the...
