Simple Restaurant marrakech — Restaurant in Marrakesh Prefecture

Wanted to get something which was homely and more traditional. Decided to go to Simple Restaurant. Was very quickly taken inside and sat down. 20 minutes later still no one had come to serve me so decided to go downstairs to find someone. The waiter came and when asked about the menu he was unaware of what the “special” on the menu was so had to find another waiter who turned up 5 minutes later. Made our order and had to wait 30 minutes before being served. I must say the Lamb Tanjia, Harera soup and the Moroccan salad was tasty. The Pastilla was stone cold in the middle, the rice was as hard as a stone, and the couscous which was “on the house” was also cold. Other customers got up and left due to the waiting time and it was not even busy. There were empty used plates on all tables. I am not one to give a bad review but I was actually left very disappointed considering I mentioned this all to the owners son who just brushed it off by saying he would report it to the management 🤣🤣 Maybe it was a personal bad experience. We also tried the Chicken Lemon Tagine, a Moroccan classic done right with a vibrant citrusy sauce and melt-in-your-mouth chicken. The beef dish forgot the name 😅 , rich and hearty, paired beautifully with the fluffy couscous. And for something lighter, the chicken skewers and fries were satisfying and well-prepared.

The service was excellent– warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. Pair that with impeccable rooftop views and cozy seating, and you have the perfect lunch or dinner spot.
