If you want to have the most amazing stay in Marrakech, this is the place to go!|My sister & I stayed here and had the best time all thanks to the staff at this stunning picturesque riad. I feel so grateful I got to stay here because it truly made my trip feel like a fairytale dream. ||After a short ride from the airport we got dropped off & was met by a Mr to escort us to the hotel because it’s hidden in the heart of the medina. From the moment you arrive, you feel happy, calm & welcomed. |Thankyou to Abdulrahim who took time to carefully explain the map of the city and helped me and my sister understand what to do, how far everything was, and planned everything for us to enjoy & maximise our 4 night stay. The rooms are clean and cute with comfortable beds and the rooftop had sun beds to relax on and is lovely also. ||After we were settled, we had a hamman bath and massage in the Riad and I couldn’t think of a more perfect and relaxing first day. You get treated like a princess here the staff are just so incredible, there’s not even words to describe how much I loved every single thing because anything you could want or need you can have, all you need to do is ask. I didn’t want to leave by the end. ||No matter what time of night I arrived back, I was always greeted with a friendly smile. The breakfast here is delicious I love the Moroccan crêpe and I’m obsessed with the tea. There is 3 courtyards one with the pool, and two gardens which are all gorgeous. The main square is a short walk away but even if you get lost Abdulrahim made sure we were safe. There’s many attractions very close by and once you feel confident in the surroundings you can walk by yourself which I did one day with no problem. ||When my sister felt poorly they offered to get any medication she needed, when I wanted to buy tea to take home Abdulrahim came to help me. The owner has 5 other riads which you are welcome to visit and 2 restaurants, we tried the one next to our riad and the food, the people and the vibe was all fantastic. ||Everything we booked through the hotel was great also; our tour guide was wonderful, we did a hot air balloon and camel ride that was phenomenal, our driver was so lovely. This place makes dreams come true it feels like. ||Once again Thankyou so much to Abdulrahim, Mustafa, Khalid, the beautiful girls, and everyone who works here. I can’t wait to come back in the future, and I will never forget how well looked after and cared for I was here. I had the time of my...
Read moreMy friend and I stayed here at the beginning of July. We stayed in the 4 bed female dorm and for the entire week bar one night we had it to ourselves!||||The riad itself is really beautiful but it would probably be quite hard to find without the airport transfer, however once you know where it is you're set.||||For the price you can't expect anything fancy (it's way cheaper per night than you'd pay on a campsite in Britain!) but what we did get was perfectly adequate for our weeks stay. ||||All the staff were really friendly. When we arrived the first thing Salma did was give us a map each and circle the best things to see in Marrakech. Abdul is a great guy! He will sit and talk to you for ages and is always ready to top up your mint tea, he even sorted out bus tickets to Essaouira for us which was really kind of him and very helpful.||||The breakfast was great and its included, they serve it every morning between 8 and 10 on the roof and it consists of Moroccan pancakes which are like a flatbread with butter and syrup and mint tea. They also cooked cous-cous and a tagine on Friday night which was really nice and it's one meal in the week that you don't have to think about. ||||We went on one excursion organised by the riad which was reasonably priced. It was to the Cascades d'Ouzoude, I would definitely recommend this although it's quite a trek!||||The only bad point was the airport pickup, we ended up waiting 2 hours for them to arrive! Which, after an extremely long night and the shock of the Moroccan heat we really could have done without so I would say definitely confirm your pick up the day before as this is something I didn't do!||||Lastly, (this relates to places to visit in Marrakech) we were really impressed with the Jardin Majorelle it's one of the best places we visited in Marrakech, so if you can I would go there, its quite amazing!||||So, back to the Riad! Overall, if you're looking for a cheap place to stay then I would definitely recommend Auberge Riad Douzi, we both agreed that we'd got more of a taste of the "real Morocco" by staying here, it's like staying with old friends in there home as opposed to a hotel where yes, you may get a better standard of room but you certainly wouldn't get the friendly atmosphere and the feeling that you're part of their family...
Read moreoverall, the trip was great, but some improvements are worth mentioning. you can’t access the property by car, there’s a short walk required. for those unfamiliar with marrakech, the winding alleys can feel a little disorienting at first (though the area is very safe). arriving at night, check-in felt a bit unstructured; key details like breakfast times weren’t shared. the next morning’s tour helped us get oriented.
the space is beautiful and well maintained. our stay was very comfortable: cozy rooms, a generous and tasty breakfast, and the option of dining in, which is perfect after long days. however, as days passed, the initial warmth faded. by the last day, we felt rushed, not a pleasant note to end on. when withdrawing cash to pay for a massage, we were repeatedly asked about our return, despite having already clarified. the spa itself is lovely, but the experience lacked care, no tea, little ambiance, therapists whispering during the massage, and entering the room before we’d finished dressing. tipping expectations weren’t communicated either.
the pool was spotless and some staff were truly kind, always serving breakfast with a smile. still, the overall experience declined toward the end, no guest wants to feel like it’s time to leave. a few small changes could truly...
