This restaurant is fantastic. Our experience was spectacular and I could not recommend it more.
We had originally booked a different restaurant but after meeting two incredible singers the night before and finding out they were performing again at the Jardin the next night, we cancelled and booked the Jardin instead! We went on a Saturday at 9.30pm, as we knew that’s when the singers would be coming on. On the booking I asked for a close view of the singers as we knew them, and upon arrival the host said she only noticed the booking note then. She asked if we minded waiting at the bar while she arranged a table for us closer to the front which was very kind & accommodating so of course we didn’t mind! The bar was beautiful, I mean the whole restaurant is spectacular, so wherever you’re seated you get a stellar view and outstanding atmosphere regardless. The food was just incredible, everything cooked to perfection, and the presentation was fabulous too. As were the drinks, the wine and cocktail options were great, and of course delicious too.
The selling point of this restaurant has to be the entertainment. There were I think three performances from different groups, a group of men performing a traditional dance, a belly dancer who bought fantastic energy, and the two singers, Lena and Charline. Who are quite literally incredible. We had seen them the night before at Villa Aaron, where they captivated us so much we just had to see them a second night in a row! What incredible voices and amazing energy. They had everyone up, dancing and singing, with a mix of amazing songs which they performed so beautifully. They came over to us multiple times during the evening, chatting and singing at our table, such a credit to the restaurant. An incredible evening, amazing food, amazing drinks, and incredible atmosphere. 1000% would recommend! (Excuse the crappy photos, they are all screenshots from videos as I didn’t take any photos, photos just didn’t do the...
Read moreThe most fascinating thing about Marrakech is that you can find yourself walking outside in bustling markets with horse carts, taxis and motorbikes, worn down roads and streets, all so quintessentially Moroccan and the next minute you enter a doorway and are transported into a little oasis, so enchanting, you would think you walked through a portal.
This is Les Jardin Du Lotus. It is so beautiful from every angle. We dined in the evening at 9pm and immediately felt like we had won the jackpot. We had pre booked and upon arriving we were offered a table in the very far corner at the back of the restaurant which was not ideal but after requesting to be moved to a more central table, we were relocated and were made to feel very welcomed and looked after. We all had a wonderful evening and really enjoyed ourselves.
The downside (which is unfortunate really) is the food. It really did let the place down and was far too expensive for what it was. I ordered the ‘Clarisses Famous Shrimp Tacos’ which was priced at 230 MAD (approx £18) and literally got 2 small shrimps, one in each taco. Also the fries tasted like they were old and refried. Burnt, overcooked and too crispy. The other diners with me also were very disappointed with their food - they ordered the Branzino which they said was overcooked and the chicken which was also dry. Overpriced is an understatement and had it not been for the setting, and the fact that we actually enjoyed our night, we would have genuinely felt completely ripped off. The service staff were very pleasant and they made us feel very welcome but we had to request water 3 times before it was brought to us. It took an hour to get a bottle of sparkling water!
So my advice would be to not go for the food, go for the view and the music and the atmosphere and you will have...
Read moreI made a reservation for 730p. It started to get busy around 830p. Music and singers starter arouns 900p. Its a cool vibe when the sun is up...and down. Everyone working was very friendly. I was seated quickly and presented menus. I ordered all of my food at once. The drink came out quickly, along with the olive plate.
The spicy margarita was well balanced... it had a good amount of heat that was not over powering.
The olives were nice and paired with what im guessing is similar to a foccaccia.
I really liked the ceviche. Sea bass. Avocado...onion. Pomegranate. Cucumber. Good amout of citrus... there was a decorative chip on it. Cilantro. Aguadechile. Everything was very fresh and the lime suited the dish well. I really enjoyed eating this. It could definitely serve as a light mwal on its own if you arent too hungry...also great to share.
Im not exactly sure what happened... im assuming something in the kitchen...but the shrimp tacos took a signifcant time to prepare. Had i for some reason been in a rush...and if service had not been as spectacular ...this review would probably be a 4. They came out about an hour after everything else.
But they were worth it. And it gave me time to order another drink - the papichulo...again really well balanced with a good amount of heat.
The tacos were really well prepared...mango pico...and a spicy mayo... also comes with a dish of guacamole and a lemon. I recommend using both.
The atmosphere is very nice once it gets dark and the show is an added bonus. 930p it was definitley busy. There were people with obvious established reservations and others that seemed to walk in and grab an available table. Highly recommend checking this place out. Fantastic cocktails, a diverse menu,...
