Came here for lunch on a Monday during Ramadan. Only one other family there. Staff was friendly and classy. We were two adults and two children 9 and 6. We ordered the 9 Moroccan salads and the veal tagine. We wanted the lamb tagine but it wasn’t ready (requires prep time). The 9 salads were well prepared and flavorful. Some were savory, some were salty, some were sour and some were sweet. There is probably something for everyone. You can taste the clove and cinnamon in some of the sweet ones. The bread was fresh out of the oven and delicious. There was excellent fresh olive oil but we asked for argan oil since we heard so much about it when reading about Morocco and never tried it. The argan oil was amazing. It lacked the complexity of olive oil but it had a buttery mouthfeel that made the olive oil feel like water in your mouth by comparison. The veal tagine was fantastic. Well seasoned. The bone had a massive piece of succulent marrow. Our kids ate every bite of the tagine with us. We ordered the local Tempranillo and it was excellent. Medium bodied and peppery. Complimented the veal perfectly. They brought us mint tea during the check and it was the best mint tea we’ve had. This is the best food we’ve had in Morocco. (Lived in India, Nepal, Germany, Korea, US, tried every...
Read moreCame to this restaurant last night, to get a table for 2, was told that it was booked up but we were welcome to have a look for another night. We seen inside the restaurant. It looks nice, but unfortunatly it was booked up. We though, okay, we’ll come back tomorrow. The man who was around the door area asked us if we would like a recommendation to one of their other restaurant within the chain. We said yes but he wouldn’t give us the name, but told us to follow him.
He brought us to a pretty awful looking restaurant which we had already seen, then asked for a gift for him.
Obviously looking for money for walking us down the street to another restaurant. I told him no, he asked again and I think he could tell I was taking firm stance.
He walked off.
The food here may be good, we will never know. But if you are turned away at the door, do not let them bully you into paying them for showing you a...
Read moreEdit: in response to the restaurant's reply, I want to confirm that we did not decline an entre as claimed.
I can understand that some authentic Moroccan dishes may take time to prepare. However, this wouldn't explain why it took an hour to serve our deserts.
Please refrain from lying in response to reviews.
Original: We reserved a table for two at Si Said after reading many glowing reviews, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. There were significant delays in receiving our meals—about an hour from being seated to the main course, and another hour before dessert arrived.
The food itself was enjoyable, though portions were on the smaller side and prices felt high compared to similar restaurants. It’s possible the kitchen was short-staffed during our visit, as other reviews are much more positive.
If you’re short on time, I’d recommend keeping that in mind...
