First, it was difficult to find the place as the address is wrong on booking.com. I had to call the phone to find it. Then knock a door for awhile for someone to open the door. The door is not marked as Riad, just a sign on the corner. The staff is almost never at the reception, I wanted to book SPA treatment, but it was literally impossible. The receptionist didn't even explain where and when is the breakfast or wifi password. Nothing just gave the key and offered tea, which I refused since I had to pickup up my luggage from storage.
The first room was stinking of sewage (no elbow under sink and it has nothing to do with rain as they claimed as it didn't rain for weeks) and heating didn't work, so I had a terrible night of sleep waking up at 6am cold and smelling like sleeping in a sewage. After complaining in the morning (as no one at reception) they offered another room, which was clearly inferior quality, but at least no foul smell. The new room had half sockets falling off and half not working properly, waiting for an accident to happen (especially if you're traveling with children).
The bathroom doesn't even have soap for hands nor bathrobe as advertised. From all list what advertised they just had a pool, towels, shampoo and hair conditioner with hair dryer. Nothing else is there as advertised, no fridge l, no iron - nothing. After I wrote a complaint on booking system, they texted me at 10pm on WhatsApp, offering again to change the room. Since I was tired and in bed already I refused to move my luggage one more time (c'mon to a third room in 24 hours!). Also I was offered a beer, like it would fix all the problems.
Also new room had poor curtains and couldn't block the light from inner yard and the bed was not double, but two single beds pushed together with a worn-out mattress with a dip in the middle. I had a terrible back pain after sleeping on it. So second night was also a terrible sleep, but at least I had heating.
In addition to that, bathroom looked really worn-out with stains on the floor everywhere, tap fixations moving around exposing holes on the wall. After showering all water was ending up on the floor in entire bathroom (both rooms).
Breakfast was good, but nothing exceptional just one pancake, some bread and fried egg.
There was construction noise, so it was impossible to rest during day (since I had awful sleep a night before).
Yes it has a nice pool and a good location, but that's pretty much it.
I was really looking for a good experience and Spa to relax on my last days in Morocco and it really disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the staff is generally friendly, but just unprofessional. Check other reviews and see if there's is a pattern of foul smell and giving inferior rooms. This could be a good Riad, but some rooms need refurbishment and better...
