We have just come back from a 7 nights stay, we booked a ground floor room which was slightly cheaper (but it leads straight into the seating area so can be a little noisy) when a 1st floor room was available they offered us a chance to move up stairs, which we were very greatful for, the room was slightly chilly in the December months we asked for a heater and when we came back from a days exploring it was in the room and left on for us so it was nice and warm, breakfast was lovely and they offered to arrange this earlier for us when ever we had early morning trips booked. WiFi was excellent, the location was great once we got our bearings, some lovely restaurants just out side and to the left, we arranged a taxi with the raid from the airport because I’ve read it came be difficult for people to find we paid 20euros and on the return we walked to the street and jumped in a taxi which was 100mad (10 euros) but it was worth paying the extra with the hotel so we didn’t have any issues finding the place. ||We had already booked trips before we arrived and I did feel the owner on check in was trying to re sell us private trips at a higher rate - which was slightly annoying there are loads of travel agents around selling trips so don’t feel like you have to book direct with the raid, we just went with a mini bus of around 14/16 people and didn’t have a issue with the company they said they would pick us up at a certain time and they were knocking on the door dead on. ||We always had hot water and and freindly face open the door and I would recommend this raid and if ever I was in the area again I would...
Read moreI stayed here for 7 nights. I had a wonderful! The Riad is well kept and clean. The staff is VERY accommodating and helpful. It’s centrally located in the Medina close to eateries and Souks. ||The breakfast was typical Berber. The dinner was prepared traditionally and was equally as delicious. ||I have only two negative comments to make;||1. The payment process. I was told upon check-in that payment was due up front in Moroccan currency and credit/debit card wasn’t accepted. This sent my anxiety through the roof for the first few days as I had to figure out how to pay a weeks stay without access to an American bank. Be mindful of this when you make your reservation. I had to transfer the money to a family member and have them send to me via Money Gram. I was then able to make the payment in Moroccan currency. ||||2. I wasn’t aware that a reservation for dinner was required. My first night I went to the dining area, but was not able to have the pre-set meal because I didn’t make a reservation. My little friend(never learned his name, just called him friend), was very gracious and prepared an omelette, bread, tea and water for me. It took a while to understand his objective in preparing the alternate meal for me, but we got through it..lol||||Aside from that, I had a lovely stay. I look forward to a...
Read moreStaff were very friendly and helpful!! Not all of them spoke English but we managed to communicate well and are very thankful to staff for meeting and exceeding our requirements. Specially for the earlier breakfast and taking us around to places!! Thank you :) Breakfast was very tasty and fresh and dinner was lovely.||Definitely 5 stars to all staff there!! Hope they are as appreciated as they deserve to be.||||Location is a major problem!! Marrakech is already confusing as it is and the description of the address doesn’t seem to be very popular with the locals! Really upset as we had to spend extra money on 2 taxis (as they both couldn’t find our hotel and simply dropped us off near a landmark) then had to pay two boys who walked us over to the hotel and obviously asked for money. Also getting anywhere around the hotel without internet on your phone is IMPOSSIBLE as directions will never be clear enough to those roads!! I’d strongly suggest that the hotel does a simplified version of a sort of map to guests who don’t speak Arabic or French and also to have the address a bit more clear so when we show people on streets they will know where the hotel is (near a square, landmark, whatever). Another thing which is a minor is that there was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom and would be...
