After exploring Agafay and getting stuck in the usual Marrakech traffic, we were more than ready for lunch. Bâcha Café, as expected, had a 3-hour wait (yep, three). A quick Google search brought up Atay Café, and we decided to give it a shot. There were five of us, no reservations, so we waited about 30 minutes which wasn’t too bad. Once seated, we ordered a mix of dishes: chicken, kefta, and lamb tagines, chicken skewers, and chicken couscous. The chicken and lamb tagines were the standouts—rich, vibrant, and deeply flavorful. They came with couscous on the side, which soaked up the sauce perfectly. The kefta tagine, unfortunately, wasn’t as flavorful. The chicken couscous was tasty too, but fair warning: it comes with what felt like two full cups of couscous—definitely shareable. We wrapped up with a brownie and an almond tart, but both were just okay. Not worth the extra calories. The rooftop setting is a great spot to take in the views of the bustling alley below. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, though the hostess had a bit of an attitude during check-in and again when we were leaving. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely took away from the overall experience.
