Overall very disappointing experience.
Started off well. Team were quick to get us a table and at our request found a table on the roof.
For drinks we got the Raspberry Ice Tea and the Funky Bazaar. Drinks came fairly quickly. Decent, nothing to write home about.
Only down side to note was that we requested some straws from one server and was told they’d be back. Waited for a while but ended up having to ask another server who actioned asap.
We ordered the T-bone steak. Maybe it was our mistake for not choosing the local option but omd it was so hard to cut through. Although we ordered medium rare there was too much gristle on the steak which made it a chore to eat. Hands and index finger hurting a lot after.
Steak lacked seasoning too. We had to request for salt and pepper as our table had not been set with these already on it.
On the plus side the chips (roasted potatoes on the menu) and the beef joux that accompanied the steak were good. Could’ve given a bit more joux considering the size of the steak.
We went around sunset. They need more lighting up there as it just added to the laboursome experience. Some customers who came after us required the use of their flash lights on their phones to order.
Staff were nice and took our feedback. Not sure how much was absorbed though as there was a language barrier.
One more thing to add is the staff came across not very attentive. As in addition to the straw it took a while to draw servers’ attention. For ex. When we were trying to figure out how to pay the bill the servers decided to talk amongst themselves.
Tbh, I can forego the points on service so long as the food is decent but it was hard to overlook as the food was trash.
Overall if you’re there for the aesthetic then go during day time and if you want to eat good then order the...
Read moreDuring my recent trip to Marrakesh, my friend and I were on the hunt for a great place to eat but didn’t know where to start. Thankfully, the hostel host came through with a recommendation that quickly became our favorite dining spot of the entire trip. We ended up visiting this charming restaurant every single day we were there! From the moment we stepped inside, I was blown away by the beauty of the place. The intricate tile details, in stunning colors, created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. To top it off, turtles casually wandered around, adding an adorable touch to the vibe. For lunch on our first visit, I went with one of their signature bowls, while my friend opted for the chicken sandwich. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and perfectly crafted. The flavors were so fresh. Throughout our trip, we came back multiple times to try other menu items like their hummus and pita, roasted veggies, and their fresh fruit plate for dessert—which was the perfect light and refreshing finish to a meal. What truly made this place special, aside from the food, was the ambiance. It felt relaxed and inviting, and we didn’t need to make any reservations. Whether for lunch or dinner, the restaurant offered a laid-back yet cozy atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced, especially given the quality, and the service was warm and attentive. If I ever find myself in Marrakesh again, this spot will be at the top of my list. A true culinary gem that offers both fantastic food and a delightful environment to...
Read moreThe food was good. The service was absolutely TERRIBLE! We got sat on the roof at first but it was raining so we asked to be moved downstairs- they told us first floor- never escorted us to a table. Then we sat at a table with umbrella and the manager said we can’t sit there bc it was going to rain more so he escorted us to a stuffed room. Where there was no room to get to the table- and the tables were very heavy to move. Later I discovered that other two tops were sitting where we wanted to sit originally.
I had to ask 3 waitresses for sugar for my tea, one asked- is there no sugar in there? I said no- but if there was, would you not have gotten me sugar? She wasn’t the one to get me the sugar. Had to ask someone else.
Took forever to clean the table. Table setup was crazy- it was so tight - no one helped us move the tables and the people in the corner were trapped- imagine if there was an emergency ?
Didn’t bring shared plates, no oil for bread, no smile, no explanation of food, just asked if we were ready to order- didn’t want to put her input in . When the food came out the waitress just dropped the plates infront of us. No thank you at the end. Nothing! Happily smiling at the men next to us though.
Terrible last meal in Morocco. Very upsetting. When paying the bill they asked us how it was and we said the service was terrible- and the girl said nothing. So I guess it was just a regular thing all around for this...
