Hotel Yarlung - Rooms and Serviced Apartments — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Initially rented on Airbnb and then extended in person. The airbnb price was quite expensive but since it was shoulder season and hotel was quite empty got a good deal on cash price.

I rented a room with a kitchen and it had a pretty good amount of room for 2 people. You could probably fit 3 if a kid or someone up to 172cm slept on the couch.

The WiFi isn’t that good though. The router is based in the hallway and serves the whole floor, if it goes out you can call reception and they’ll come up and restart it, or you can do it yourself but it was more trouble that it was worth and primarily used cellular data.

My room has a main living area with a dining table with 3 chairs, a L shaped couch, and a couple big windows. The kitchen area had a small two burner stove, a couple spices, sink, dishrack, and a few dishes. A couple plates, cups, one pot, one pan, and silverware. It could definitely use a couple bowls, and lids for the pots. There was also a very small mini fridge which was useful for leftovers or a few small groceries.

The bedroom has a big queen size bed with one nightstand on each side that has drawers, and a conveniently placed outlet above each nightstand. There’s also a good sized wardrobe closet.

The six days my family and I spent there, from July 7 to July 12 of 2023, were fantastic. We stayed in a serviced apartment room type, which included an attached living area and a fully functional kitchen. The rooms were clean, spacious and had a cozy, friendly atmosphere. It is conveniently situated next to Boudhanath, takes about 3 minutes to get there. It has excellent road connections as well. Although the hotel's restaurant was closed for maintenance, the café was open and served great coffee and snacks. We visited the surrounding restaurants and cafes because the restaurant wasn't yet available (there were several dining alternatives close by, and we also cooked our meals in the hotel). Well placed hotel 4 minutes away from Boudha Stupa. It is gated and a security guard is present there 24/7 so it is well protected. Utilities are new and do not have any issues. One of the ACs was not working the first day but it was fixed the day after. Inside the gated area of the hotel there are plenty of chairs and sofas to just chill outside while being covered from the rain and sun. I definitely recommend this place and we will come...
