The restaurant staff was a bit abusive to the cats that would come around the outdoor tables. That was upsetting. However, the hotel was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Whatever we needed, they took care of. The beds are very comfortable and some rooms have amazing views of Kathmandu. Great showers and breakfast. The location is not that far from Thamel, it is just outside of it but you have to cross one busy street. That was not very convenient, but we got used to it. The breakfast could be improved as well, not really a lot of options available. The rooms in old building (not deluxe) are tiny and with not convenient shower. WiFi worked ok, but you have to re-authorize frequently to make it work smooth. The owners were very friendly and helpful peoples and helped us in multiple occasions. They have new building, with Deluxe rooms and it is much more more recommended rather than Standard rooms. We upgraded our rooms after first night. The shower works great, and rooms are spacious. They also have own larger courtyard with parking and several places to relax. We extended our stay and came back after trekking. Just in case, they are changing their name to "Olives Garden" or...
Read moreStayed here with a friend and booked 2 rooms.Waited nearly an hour after check-in for our rooms, and when we finally got them, one room the toilet didn't flush, and the other the aircon leaked water all over the floor. They got the toilet fixed quickly, but the aircon was completely broken in my room. I agreed that a fan would be OK, so they brought a fan that the plug didn't work very well and had to wedged at an angle in the socket, needless to say it kept falling out. After about 2 hours of me complaining, they finally brought an extension lead up, which sorted the problem. Outside our room was a balcony with manky old chairs and bags of empty bottles, really not appealing. The manager told us these were good rooms. My aircon continued to leak water into the night and if took them an hour to send someone ro clean if up. I stayed in the room, pictured 1st, and I can assure you it doesn't look like that now, now it's old and tired, marks all over the walls.|In its day this would have been a lovely hotel, but it's...
Read moreExcellent service and value for money. Fantastic location right in the heart of Nepal but perfectly placed as it is set back from the main roads so you can be close yet conveniently hidden / pushed back from the noisy traffic. The highlights of this hotel are the excellent staff and outdoor restaurant terrace. The staff were always very friendly and approachable - one young man on reception had impeccable English. We stayed here during the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the staff had set up a large projector screen in the terrace and were streaming all games for guests to enjoy. They even supported my husband to watch a 1am match of our homecountry team! This hotel was booked on our behalf by a tour company but we would highly recommend due to staff service and location. The room is very basic but it is a low budget hotel and you get what...
