Our experience with Adventure Himalaya for the Poon Hill Panorama Trek in the Annapurna region was exceptional from start to finish.
Pre-Trek Experience When we first met with Basu in Kathmandu, we had a general idea of where we wanted to trek but needed guidance on the specifics. Basu and Raj were incredibly helpful, providing valuable insights and recommendations to tailor the trek to our needs at a reasonable price. Basu was communicative and accommodating throughout the planning process, even checking in with us during the trek to ensure everything was going well.
Guide Experience We were fortunate to have Dhurba as our guide, and we now consider him a friend. From the outset, he was diligent, respectful, and approachable. His extensive knowledge of the Annapurna region and his infectious positive energy made our trek not just smooth but genuinely enjoyable. Dhurba went above and beyond, assisting not only us but also fellow trekkers and local staff, showcasing his character and dedication. We appreciated his willingness to share his stories and his kindness throughout our journey.
Accommodation & Food The accommodations exceeded our expectations, with comfortable rooms—most featuring en-suite bathrooms—and stunning views. The food was a delightful surprise, with generous portions. We particularly loved the Dal Bhat for dinner; each meal was delicious and a highlight of our days in the mountains. We recommend bringing around 10,000 NPR in cash for extras like bottled water, snacks, and toilet roll.
Overall Recommendation We wholeheartedly recommend Adventure Himalaya for anyone planning a trek in Nepal. We are grateful for their support and for an unforgettable experience. We look forward to returning and trusting them to organise our...
Read moreWe are a couple who just came back from Gokyo lake and is happy to share our experience. Everything was arranged, we didn't have to worry about anything. Picked up from the hotel and dropped at the airport. At the airport in Lukla picked up again by Sherpas and taken care of for the whole trekking duration. It's useful to have a guide as he arranges hotels for you, which migh be super important in busy season. They call known hotels on the way, so, once you achieve your destination you are already checked in. Also as locals they can arrange many 'small' things for you. and most importantly - they really know to area and all the shortcuts. They know where is a danger which we or other people on the path were underestimating. They see all wild animals in distance, I would never notice them :) Views are absolutely spectacular. We were lucky to see Everest few times one our way :) our guide was very friendly and helpful. Super kind and professional. We have trecked everything we have planned or maybe even more :) We went from Lukla to Gokyo Lakes, Gokyo Ri and then back via RangoLa pas down. It was in December and took us 11 days (9 up and 2 down). You have a constant connection and support with the agency. They book flights for you, taxi... It was first time I have used the agency, till now I was arranging all trips by myself. It doesn't cost much more than doing all on your own however the comfort of not thinking about anything was super please and relaxing. Fully recommend and can't wait to have next trip with you to Chitwan...
Read moreHello. Once we’ve finished our trekking, we’d like to tell you our experience. Were are not so glad with the guide. He didn’t tell us so much about the nature, the culture or the places that we visited. The trek was easy so we hired a guide in order to know more about the place but he didn’t tell anything about it. He was more worried about making Spanish girls friends than being a good guide. I think the communication was no good because he didn’t speak well English. Moreover, sometimes he didn’t let us enjoy the peace of the trekking because he didn’t stop talking or he just didn’t let us on our own. One time he went in our bedroom without knocking the door and we considered he didn’t respect our privacy. Last day we had to sleep in a separated place of the te house because he didn’t book in advance so when we arrived at the te house it was already full. Consequently, he had to walk to the te house to have breakfast or a shower. In Tadapani he didn’t start the trek with us because he had to meet a friend. This is unbelievable. The guide hasn’t been as profesional as we expected. After speaking to the manager he asked us for deleting our comment in trip advisor because they need a good position in the ranking. We use these reviews to choose the best option available so there is no point...
