Avocado Cafe in Thamel is an absolute gem for avocado enthusiasts like me. I recently had the pleasure of trying their Royal Avocado Salads, and I must say, they left me craving for more. This cozy little cafe offers some of the best food I have ever tasted.
The highlight of my experience was the Royal Avocado Salad. It was a delightful blend of fresh, ripe avocados combined with a medley of crisp and colorful vegetables. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a burst of freshness. The generous portion of avocados added a creamy and buttery texture that elevated the salad to a whole new level.
What impressed me the most was the quality of ingredients used in the salad. The avocados were perfectly ripe and luscious, showcasing the cafe's commitment to serving the finest produce. The attention to detail in the presentation was also noteworthy, making the dish visually appealing and appetizing.
The ambiance of Avocado Cafe is warm and inviting, providing a cozy atmosphere to enjoy your meal. The staff members were friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish.
Apart from the Royal Avocado Salad, the cafe offers a diverse menu with various avocado-inspired dishes and healthy options. Whether you're a fan of avocado toast, smoothies, or desserts, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Read moreI came across Avocado Café in Thamel while wandering around, and honestly, it was such a good find. As a foreigner traveling through Kathmandu, I’ve tried a bunch of different spots, but this place really stood out for both the food and the service.
The staff here are genuinely friendly. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel welcome. They explained the menu really well, checked in just the right amount, and always had a smile on their faces. It’s the kind of customer service that makes you want to come back, not just for the food but for the whole vibe.
Speaking of food—the menu is fantastic. Of course, the avocado dishes are a highlight. I tried one of their fresh salads and also had a smoothie bowl, and both were spot on: fresh, tasty, and beautifully put together. What I loved is that they don’t just stick to one style. You can get healthy vegetarian and vegan options, hearty Nepali meals, or international dishes if you’re craving something more familiar. It’s the kind of place where you can grab a light breakfast, a filling lunch, or even just chill with a smoothie.
Prices are reasonable for Thamel, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The café itself has a relaxed, cozy vibe too, which makes it a nice spot to take a break from the busy streets outside.
Overall, Avocado Café is definitely one of my favorite food stops in Thamel. Great food, great service, and a really welcoming atmosphere—I’d recommend it to any traveler...
Read moreWe ate here once for dinner and once for lunch while staying in the Thamel area of Kathmandu. We had wonderful meals and experiences both times.
Our dinner was the lemon pepper chicken and chicken sekhado. Both were from a limited menu due to the Dashain festival, and recommended by our waiter. We really enjoyed both a lot! The guacamole was the best we've had in 5 years of living in Asia (and the homemade tortilla chips were delicious by themselves even!).
For lunch we had the smoked chicken wrap and the spinach and cheese momos. Both were delicious (and the sauces for the momos were the best we've had in Nepal!).
Miraz, the manager, was extremely helpful and fun to talk with. We hope to return to Nepal one day, and will definitely eat here if we are...
