I checked into Gantavya last afternoon with my family. Have booked 2 super deluxe rooms for 3 nights stay. I was hoping that out stay would be relaxing as the property claims to be overlooking the fewa lake, but to our surprise, there is no view of the lake here. There are few restaurants and other properties which obscures the view completely.||The biggest setback is a massive expansion project undertaken by the property and instead of having a relaxing stay we are being tormented by heavy construction noise even before sunrise. They are piling up heavy bricks and construction material throwing them on the roof of our rooms which is so disgusting at early morning hours when one is in deep sleep. There is cement water and mortar everywhere. The place is so slushy. Our rooms are dripping from the ceiling from construction water and completely wet near the sitting area. By right the property should have closed the resort till the expansion work was over so that the guests were not inconvenienced this way. I would have never booked it if I had known this before. ||Although staffs are very helpful and friendly but that does not make things better considering the inconveniences that one has to go through due the construction work.||||I would request hotel management to close down the property till such time the expansion work is not complete. You cannot ride on two boats at the same time by keeping the resort open for booking and yet inconvenience the guest with your expansion work.||||I would request Agoda and other hotel booking engines to make a note of this so that they don't earn a bad name with their loyal customers worldwide. ||||The owners of Gantavya should also have a moral responsibility towards their guests who have paid hevfty amounts during the Dusshera...
Read moreCame here to rest after our trek. We immediately noticed that the view from the pictures was nothing like the pictures Gantavya advertised with. No direct view to the lake, just ugly iron fences and concrete buildings right next to the resort. The garden was a mixed bag: messy with all kinds of junk, but on the other hand the seats in the lobby were nice (see attached pictures). ||The room was nice and clean. Lovely matrasses. Breakfast only so-so: toast from old bread, potatoes semi-cold, coffee was OK though. All in all breakfast was comparable to our $10 a night hostel in Kathmandu.||All things considered our stay definitely wasn't worth the $37.50 per night. If you're looking for a true resort, please look further! To be honest, we suspect the reviews below might be fake (all of the 5 star reviews have only published one review, so draw your own...
