The staff were friendly and the hotel room was cheap but they overcharged us for food and water. They didn’t even show us a menu and at the end the food cost was more than the hotel room. They overcharged us for the water when there was a shop next to the store that sold the water bottle for 15 ruppes less. They never told us the price when we ordered food and at the end the bill was outstanding. Sometimes the electricity kept going and the fans stopped working and they had no ac so it was hard. The bed sheets and blankets had stains on them and had holes on them and it looked like the carpets havent been washed in ages. The bed made us itchy (please check for bed bugs). I couldnt sleep and had bites all over my legs (it was either from ants or bed bugs). Overall it’s a good hotel if you’re going to be out during the day and only going to be in the hotel to sleep and you dont eat there. I would also recommend you to go to the other resturants around the hotel instead of eating at the hotel as they say it’s very “expensive” because of the tax when other resturants are way cheaper than the hotel. There were also ants in our room as well as cockroaches so please spray before introducing guests into their rooms. Overall the hotel was located near the lake and the airport as the cost to going to the airport was only 400 ruppes Also the staff were nice. Please make a menu or show the menu before people order food to avoid people who have less money during that trip with a...
Read moreWe did not stay at this hotel but went to their restaurant for breakfasts and dinner. Their coffee and muesli were off-the-hook and the gentleman who served us during our first 3 visits was very helpful and professional. We asked for a latte with 2 extra shots of espresso and he served it with a smile! Unfortunately, our trip to this restaurant came to a screeching halt when we encountered a new server who was completely UN-professional! He'd not only interject as we are placing our orders but also was too busy chatting with his colleagues to notice our waving hand. He did not even provide us with a receipt but a kindergarden-level hand-scratched torn piece of paper. Beside that, he comes back saying that our credit card was declined. Unbelievable, considering we've been using it for our past 3 meals! It was more uncomfortable when those very server-friends of his would be staring at us with utter disrespect. ||||I regret not being able to compliment the first guy. I wish I could contact the management to have this guy taken care of so that I can go back to the restaurant and start recommending to my...
Read morePokhara was my first time and we went to Hotel Mandala, as per my friend's recommendation. Got off the bus at Prithvi chowk Bus park and took a 10 minute taxi ride to Hotel Mandala located at prime location of Lakeside on the 18th street. Food is good. Rooms are sunny and clean, with well maintained attached bathrooms. Each room has one double bed and another single bed with tables on balcony and a small garden for peace of mind. Surya pahari uncle is super friendly and makes every effort to help you make your stay pleasant. His flute practicing melodies in the morning and evening are added benefits. Evening walk to Lakeside is easy and quick. Walking in lighted streets of lakeside and enjoying live music in the cafe and pubs are wonderful memories of pokhara. Rate is also reasonable, and affordable. Plain Khana Set was very good at the price of mere Rs. 300. Whenever I visit pokhara again, Hotel Mandala would definitely be my choice. We stayed there for three nights and have had a...
