We were really disappointed by the behaviour of the owner. As students with very less money, we asked for the cheapest room and he gave us a room for 1000 roupies, promising to us that it was his cheapest room, though he also had rooms for 600 and 800 roupies. There were really few clients at that time because we were off-season. Therefore, when we discovered this, we asked him to change for a cheaper room for next night. He said "it is already 10:30 am and the check out is at 10. So you have to stay one more night in the expensive room". Who has ever seen a check out at 10 am ? What's more, because of off-season there were no clients waiting for our room. Also, each time we were telling him the activities that we planned to do during the day, he would try to make us pass through an agency although our activities really didn't require any help. Example : going to Begnas Tal to swim.
For laundry, we had to pay 150 roupies per kg but outside of this hotel, we can have it for 100 roupies everywhere. We even saw some other clients from the same hotel paying 100 roupies per kg for laundry. And we couldn't obtain any explanation for this difference of treatment.
So... we don't know what were his real motivations by doing this, but from our side we really felt like he was trying to cheat on us... that made us feel really uncomfortable during...
Read moreWe ended up in this place as we were approached by the owner at the bus station. He promised us a clean and modern room at a good price, hot water, WiFi etc. Sounded too good to be true, but this was one of those occasions where our luck was on point. What a find. The room was fresh and had everything we needed. The bathroom had the cleanest taps I've seen anywhere, and that shower, OMG. We were fantasizing about that shower on the way back down from base camp. Laundry service and tour bookings available if you want. They also store your big packs for you while you disappear up the mountain. And they make a mean cup of masala tea. Nice folk; located at the other side of town but would...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night before our trek and one night after we returned. the owner was friendly and immediately offered us a trek (which we thoroughly enjoyed!). Otherwise, there was no toilet paper and no towels in the room, the mattresses were awful. We stayed there again for one night but only because we felt we had to since he kept our bags for us while we were on the trek. The second night we asked for toilet paper, they said they didnât have any. And again no towels. we left the following morning and found a cleaner hotel with toilet paper AND a small bar of soap and plenty of towels and a comfy mattress for two dollars more per night! This hotel is way...
