Very friendly and helpful host and family, I felt really welcome. The day I left for ABC he even made me breakfast at quarter to five! Rooms and bathrooms very clean. Great breakfast with toast, eggs, juice, tea (or coffee), fruit and sometimes muesli with joghurt. I would have liked more than one cup of tea, but it was the same in Kathmandu, so maybe not usual. Nice little garden. ||I stayed in the red brick building, the TV was no flat screen as mentioned, but who cares, I did not use it anyway😂. Wifi worked in the third floor a bit slow, but still good enough. ||In my second stay the toilet flush was not working but they fixed it in an instant and got it repaired early next morning, perfect. Shower was hot (though it took some time to get hot) and pressure was strong. ||The host organized a shared jeep transport to a starting point for ABC and a bus ticket to Lumbini.||Location was great for me, starting Lakeside and close to TIMS/ACAP office and tourist bus station. There was some early noise from neighbour buildings though, so if you are not an early riser maybe try to get a room in the grey building (but maybe this one is more expensive?).||I really enjoyed...
Read moreMost of our trip to Nepal had been arranged by a travel agent in Kathmandu but for some of our stops we did the hotels bookings ourselves. I am very glad we did with this lovely place. It is not exactly on the Lakefront but it is tucked away about a minute's walk from the main Lakefront road. Despite not being on the main drag it has some beautiful views from the balconies on the courtyard side of the guest house.
The family who own the place are wonderful and Laxmi who is the lady in charge of everything welcomed us with a huge smile. We ended up having to stay there on 4 different nights over the 3.5 weeks we stayed in Nepal and we will always try to get a room there on any future visits. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Laxmi and her Dad will look after your bags while you go hiking or rafting and will welcome you back when you return. There is wi-fi although, like everywhere in Nepal, it can be slow. They have a laundry service and the typical tasty menu of local food available most of the time. The price is very very reasonable. I see no reason to pay more for the bigger hotels.

Read moreI enjoyed the beautyful garden, the fresh fruits and veg growing right next to it, the clean and well equipped room, the quiet baidam part of pokhara, my breakfast in the garden, the only 12 min walk to tourist bus park, the perfect (bus)ticket service, laundry service, ... . But what I really enjoyed most was the great hospitality and friendlyness of the whole family running this homely hotel. I felt not only like a guest but as a friend. When I arrived in January Surya helped me so much e.g. to get medicine within a few hours I forgot in my hotel in Kathmandu. He will always do everything to support you and provide solutions and options to your travel ideas or he will solve all (travel) problems. And everything with a smile! After 3 nights I was very sad to leave and say goodbye to this lovely family. This will be not my last time in New Annapurna Guesthouse, I will definitely stay...
