Chinese Garden Restaurant And Bar — Restaurant in Pokhara

My experience at China Garden Restaurant in Pokhara was disappointing. Despite having high expectations for Chinese cuisine, the food fell short. The salt and pepper spare ribs lacked seasoning, and the wonton soup was tasteless. The Chinese egg fried rice was bland, missing soy sauce and salt, and the duck curry was more bones than meat. It was tasteless.

Service was unprofessional and slow. Our plates took an hour to be cleared, and the soup arrived after our starters. The staff's poor handling of a broken wine glass, blaming my dad, added to the overall unpleasant experience. The team needs better training in customer service and hospitality.

Despite booking a non-smoking area for seven people, we were seated in the smoking section, causing discomfort for family members with allergies. The lack of attention to customer needs was evident throughout.

Calling the food mediocre is more than generous. Found a rice insect one, which was tolerable, but to find it three times was a big no no. Shows they don't clean their rice properly, or at all. Chinese restaurants usually also have sticky rice, which they did not, just plain rice. The worst and the most intolerable thing was their customer service. Absolutely zero manners from being arrogant to yawning when a customer talking to them is rude.

Love this chinese resto so much, the food is tastier than the other chinese resto, the price is also cheaper with bigger portion. And the owner is so kind, when i asked him if he sells Lien Hua (chinese herbal medicine) a medicine commonly use for covid, he just looked at my face and smile. And he took a large box on the top of the shelves behind him, took one pack of Lien Hua, and just gave without saying anything.
