Oinako Bed and Breakfast — Hotel in Banks Peninsula Community

We stayed here for two nights in January 2019 recommended by two friends who stayed last year. We were greeted by our charming hosts Teresa and Greg who were extremely welcoming. The house is fabulous and has been tastefully restored after the earthquake. We had an amazing room with balcony and superb views over the bay. Breakfasts were first class and tastefully presented in luxurious surroundings. There was tea and coffee in the room with lovely chocolate biscuits, cookies and mints. There was also complimentary wine which we thoroughly enjoyed. Greg was extremely helpful recommending places to see and places to eat. You’d be hard pressed to beat Oinako for quality accommodation, location and hospitality. The historic home is beautifully appointed with comfortable, modern rooms, views to die for and close to all of the action, to make Akaroa the perfect weekend destination for couples.||Greg and Teresa are the perfect hosts who have taken care to provide an understated luxurious experience; from the chocolates and cookies in the rooms, through to a pre dinner glass of wine, you’ll feel well looked after. We spent 3 nights of our near three week vacation at Oinako in Akaroa and it was without doubt the highlight of our entire trip. The house is to die for and Teresa and Greg matched the surroundings with their wonderful hospitality and fantastic breakfasts. They were genuinely welcoming and interested in our travel plans and gave us useful tips for our stay, including some we wouldn't have found in the guide books.
