Came in over the Christmas break. Ordered with family of 5.

Coffees all with cake ($10 combo thing) and a beer. came out first with a single cake and coffee. after 10min, nothing else came..

I asked where the rest of our order was, and was yelled at saying it was coming... after another 10min, another came out with a beer.

After waiting another 5min after these things came outside, I asked again where the rest of the order was.

The staff claimed that everything was served.. yet there was still 2 people waiting on coffees and cakes. Staff claimed that they had mistaken our order, even after we asked if we should repeat our order (when the order was first placed) staff were sure they had the order down, and said no.

Once everything eventually got served, about an hour had passed. Staff are rude, esp whoever yelled. Coffee was average and the cakes were literally from a box out of the supermarket.

A little pricey but the view kinda makes up for it. We preferred sitting outside rather than inside, because why would you miss out the beautiful view in front of you while having lunch. Seagulls were trying to come near us but we couldn't be bothered by them. We were also accompanied by a cat, which probably belongs to someone in the area.

Apart from all of that, the food at La Thai was good. It was a good quantity for two people. We also took coffee and tea. So it was very much fulfilling. The staff was very friendly, even though one of the items was mixed up, the lady was helpful to replace it with what we ordered.

Only place on our entire trip to NZ that actually disappointed us immensely.

We ordered food and drinks, waited over 1hr with no update.

We only got our meals after going up to the till and asking where they were and an update on when we could expect them, staff went to the kitchen to check, we waited a further 10 minutes and finally they arrived.

Yet still, no drinks and no apology.

I got a massaman curry with beef, the beef was over cooked like rubber, the potatoes undercooked and felt raw.

Eventually the manager came down to apologize for the wait, at this point we just wanted to leave.

I settled the bill and got out.
