Great vistas of the Akaroa area from the main wharf. Can be a bit breezy though. Lots of shops around and old buildings to look at. Being the most French town in New Zealand as settled by French settlers in the 19th century, you would be amiss thinking that this is not quite real. Great place to visit and plenty of cafes for a feed. For bonus points, brush up on your French words and keep an eye on the street signs. Only down side is the rules on dogs at the beach.
