FreshChoice Queenstown — Local services in South Island

Hi Rachel, we have received your email and FB complaint and also Google review complaint, and have posted our response here again, for your reference.

FreshChoice supermarkets are committed to providing 'Safe Food' for our customers. We have a Food Safety Programme in our supermarkets which monitors products that have special requirements like chilled, frozen and fresh. The programme has regular audited controls for the care, handling, temperature and storage of these products right from the time they arrive at our back door to the time they leave our supermarkets at the checkouts. For food complaints of this nature (Illness, dangerous object or contamination or injury caused by foreign object) we would report the event to a third party Food Safety Authority, Burwater Pacific to conduct an investigation.

As you have now left Queenstown and some time has passed since you were in store, we are limited to what can be done to instigate an investigation, however thankfully, we have not received any other complaints about fresh Salmon at all.

My daughter ordered small box of cupcakes from FreshChoice for mothers day through Uber Eats (where FreshChoice staff will pick and pack, Uber drive will collect the package and deliver) I received a near expiry date pack with reduced to clear sticker attached. When I emailed FreshChoice and informed what has happened, their advice was to not to use third-party sites (which they choose to advertise through), just to order directly through their own web site. I have visited FreshChoice few times, cluttered messy and staff standing around talking at the front counter. So how would they do a better service if I order through their website. Disappointing...

I really hope the manager or similar read this, because the staff behind the coubter is just plain awfull. I stayed in Queenstown for a few weeks and every single time the ladies were very annoyed and unfriendly even after greeting them happily and trying to get a smile out of them. Which never worked. Your store is great, the counter ladies are not. Please have a chat with them with some feedback. This isnt how you should be on a beautiful place as Queenstown. Regards, kerst, 28 year...
