This place has a simple, ski lodge feel: it's perfectly fine, and functional, but not luxurious by any means. I do take issue with the website claiming "With the conveniences you would expect of a 4-star Hotel" -- this really is not the case.

Our "deluxe king" room felt more "standard" to me. It was a strange shape, not very spacious for 2 people with luggage. The shower soaked the bathroom floor (other reviews talk about a heated floor, but we couldn't find a switch for this). A big puddle on the floor would be a real pain in winter.

Breakfast is NOT available, -- this is still wrong on the FAQ page on the website -- but we were allowed to use all the facilities in the breakfast room (fridge, dishes, etc). So you can just bring your own food, and there is a 24 hour convenience store very close. However, it differs from what we expected, and the information / description when we booked.

Parking: spaces and turning are quite tight... there is not a space for every room, so the system relies on some guests arriving without cars, however, but we didn't have a problem.

Excellent location.

The staff here work hard: one person is cleaning rooms and looking after the front desk. This seems to reflect labour shortages in NZ as a whole and Queenstown. Because of this, the Reception hours listed on the website are incorrect also.

Good eco policies: for example you can opt out of daily housekeeping, and if you do laundry, there is a clothes line + pegs available to air dry.

If you're in Queenstown at a busy time of year, be sure to make dinner reservations. (The whole town was buzzing when we were there.) If stuck for a meal, try the Bavarian restaurant, up the hill near...

We recently stayed for two nights at Coronation Lodge in a 1-bedroom apartment, and it turned out to be the best place we stayed during our one-week trip to Queenstown. Initially, we were hesitant to book this lodge due to the lack of elevator access (it’s only accessible by stairs) and because it’s a lodge rather than a hotel. However, it far exceeded our expectations.||||The lodge is located up a small slope via a path beside Novotel Queenstown Hotel, making it about a 7-minute walk with luggage. After checking out, we discovered a flatter path opposite the lodge that leads through Queenstown Gardens to Lake Wakatipu, just a 5-minute walk away—much easier to navigate with luggage.||||Grace, the reception lady, was incredibly kind and helpful. She assisted in carrying our luggage to the room on the second floor and even allowed us to check in early as we were leaving for a day tour at 1 pm. Her warm hospitality made us feel very welcomed.||||The apartment felt like a true holiday home. It had a separate dining area, a living room with a sofa, and two separate balconies—one off the living room and one off the bedroom. The two beds we requested were comfortable, and the apartment also featured a kitchenette, a washing machine, and an air-drying machine. The parquet flooring added a nice touch of warmth, and the balcony and bedroom windows offered a beautiful mountain view, which was a pleasant bonus.||||We made the most of the kitchenette by cooking dinner and breakfast during our stay, and we even managed to wash and dry our clothes before checking out. The convenience and comfort of this apartment made for an awesome stay, and I hope to bring my family back to this...

Unfortunately anyone can rent a room. We had stayed here several times without a problem, until there was one. We checked in late as we were from out of town. We arrived at 9"30 pm, checked in, and went out. When we got back to our room we could not get the TV working. I tried and tried and tried. Now I've never had a problem with a TV before I've stayed in 100s of motels. When he came to my room, he tried to stand over me and be assertive. However, the issue was there's for not provided the service we paid for. We paid good money and received crap service. I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay in christchurch. Because everything may be fine until you have an issue Then things are different to avoid this, just don't stay unless you want to be stood over in your room late at night!!! The room was clean tidy that's it you can get...

Clean Room, Friendly Staff, Convenient Location, Great WiFi We stayed in room number six (6), which seems to be setup for handicap access. The room had everything we expected. The location was really convenient to the city and just ~400 meters or so from a reasonably priced supermarket. The staff helped arrange our tour of Milford Sound (must see). The public bus drops you off at the top of the street and it is a short, down hill walk from there to the lodge entrance. We bought the bus weekly pass (you can buy it in the bus that picks you up at the airport, #11) for $52NZD. We used it to go all over the place (like a tour bus). Three of the drivers were extremely friendly and described the places that we were passing! We love Kiwis. What friendly people. What a beautiful country. The free WiFi had a strong signal and decent throughput.

BEST value for money! So impressed with this lodge! The level of cleanliness is incredible, I stay in plenty of hotels/motels/resorts and this is by far the best. The location is right in the city centre walking distance to the lake for that evening stroll to dinner or breakfast. Across the road from the Queenstown gardens which is lovely in the mornings. The staff were very warm and welcoming upon check in and whenever we passed them coming in to the main reception area. It’s not outdated and run down like most accom in Queenstown. Easy to get a uber outside and uber eats dropped off. I’m also a league fan so the fact that they had sky sport was one of my highlights so I wouldn’t miss the games over the weekend. Overall such a great place to stay and will definitely be booking this place again next time we’re back in Queenstown

For $200 per night, we expected a bit better than what we got. The shower was pathetic, basically dribbled out of the showerhead rather than sprayed, and splashed so much on the floor that it soaked the entire bathroom floor. Floor was also slippery so needed the shower mat, which made the drain block and water pool. No shower curtain, no shower door, just a showerhead in the corner of the bathroom with half a wall next to the toilet. Parking was extremely difficult in the underbuilding carpark, and if one guest parks a large vehicle in there you either can't get in or you can't get out. No cooking facilities available, only had a toaster (which you have to request), and when we asked about the large communal area we saw, we were told it was for the staff only.
