NOT ENOUGH PARKING, TERRIBLE SUMMER LOCATION

Our reservation said it came with free parking, so we assumed we were guaranteed parking. When we checked in, the receptionist did not tell us that the parking lot sometimes filled up and where additional parking was. We we arrived back around 10:30 PM one night, all the designated spaces were full. It was dark and there was no visibility into other potential spaces. We called the after hours reception and they said we could park on Market Street, this was on Thursday Jan 5, 2023. I told the person on the phone that I saw 90 minute parking signs there, and they told us we could park there until 9 in the morning. We received an early morning parking ticket! When we retrieved the car in the morning, we saw there was a public lot on the same street, but there was no visibility at night. We also did receive a paper that mentioned the lot, but this should have been clearly mentioned by the receptionist and the person we called at night.

The location is REALLY FAR from everything fun in Queenstown during the summer and would only be good for skiing in the winter maybe. I am calling this out because I felt duped by other reviews I read.

IF YOU NEED PARKING IN QUEENSTOWN DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

I gave a 5 star review to every other hotel we stayed at but this one...

Booked last minute due to bad weather so we needed an extra day in town for our trip. We arrived after staff hour but getting the key was really easy. The hotel is really new. Must have been built 2022 or something. Room was studio-style with kitchen and everything you need to cook a proper meal. Bed was super comfy. Bathroom even had heated floor. Tv had hundreds of newly-released movies. I was surprised to see 2023 movies such as the Flash or Indiana Jones. And they were all free. I wished I had booked here for our 4 nights at other place - the other place had nicer view of the lake but facilities was really poor. At Quest the only view is of the mountain, which is not bad at all. We stayed for like 12 hours but really enjoyed it. The lady at front desk was really nice and was one of the best 5 customer service I met in Queenstown.

The only bad thing about this place was the crowded parking lots. We booked through Qantas and booked room with parking included just to find out later it was “complimentary” - should have not advertised as “parking included” as I thought we were guaranteed a space. But I could not give less than 5 star due to above...

Disappointed is an understatement. Still trying to figure out how a hotel that is clearly located at Frankton can be called anything but Quest Frankton. Pissed off at the fact that we’re 15 minutes drive from Queenstown, the place we actually wanted to visit and experience. Also pissed off at the fact that we will now need to find and probably pay for parking when we do visit Queenstown. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere interesting for a tourist point of view. No lake, no night life and no Queenstown. Being a tourist, with very little knowledge of where I am but an Idea of where I want to be, this is really quite a let down… People beware, if like us you want to be in Queenstown, are more than happy to pay the bit extra to do so, don’t book this place!!! Coffee plunger didn’t work, wasted my last ground coffee sachet. Old dirty sock found under the bed, exhaust fan in bathroom didn’t work, very small selection of channels on the tv ( which is sad as that’s about all you can do here is watch tv)… Oh and not enough parking spots available for guests to park their vehicles. How they got a 4 star rating...

Its pretty much what you would expect from a 4 star airport hotel apartment. On the plus side. The place is very new. And one of the nicer looking quests I have stayed at. Room is spacious and clean and it's much better value than staying at hotels in city centre. There aren't many carspots but we had no trouble getting one of the last spots each evening. Check in via intercom was fine too. The negatives. We had a ground floor room and upon walking in. There's a stench of something like cigarette smokes. Perhaps some previous tenants before us had smoked here and it wasn't aired out properly. Good thing the windows actually opened a little. But as our room was facing the road it was quite noisy, and the sun came thru the blinds which weren't block out enough once day light hit. There is also no drainage next to the showe door. So when water splashes out. The water just sits there till mopped up. Some camomile or non caffeinated tea in the room instead of all caffeine options would also be nice. What was a nice touch tho. Is the shampoo, conditioner and body lotion smells great.

Incredible 9 night stay. Perfection all the way. Amazing view even from the bed and a wonderful balcony. Super comfy bed. Kitchen so well equipped including dishwasher and washer/dryer. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Best location with easy access to shops/restaurants/lake/hiking trails as well as buses and airport. Not on flight path so super quiet. I had the most amazing stay. Mark, Maureen and their team do a wonderful job. Everything is in perfect condition and super clean. I will be back and highly recommend.
