Northern Soul Adventures — Local services in Lycksele kommun

Wow! I know the Northern Lights are a luck-of-the-draw situation. But this was perfect. We got picked up by Bogdan (photographer) and Lucas on time, in a nice van. They explained the schedule for the night and we took off!

Unlike the previous 2 nights tours, Bogdan decided it was clear enough (minimal clouds) that we would go to 1 spot, and stay there. It was absolutely the right decision. They provided foot warmers (clutch move as my toes were freezing), as well as thermal suits (if you want/need them, coffee/tea/hot chocolate and Soup around the fire.

We talked Photography and got Bogdan's backstory, then we got to hear Lucas tell his tale (amazing travel and life!). We had immediate lights in the sky less than an hour from Tromso.

This night was easily the most active night for the northern light of our trip. Bogdan took pictures of everyone in front of the Lights and helped everyone with their camera setting.

He brought a second camera and set it up for an amazing time-lapse. Every time we though they might be done, we kept getting treated with bigger, brighter and different colored (green & magenta) lights. At one point, every direction of the sky had lights showing. Amazing!!!

As we wrapped up, we loaded the bus, and Lucas drove us to our various hotels. While the lights aren't up to the tour operators/guides/drivers, everything they could control was great! I would highly recommend this tour company, and if you get Bogdan or Lucas, you are definitely in good hands.

Less than 24 hours later, Bogdan emailed with a link of the pictures (included) and the ability to download high-resolution images (for a fee).

Wow, what an incredible experience! Not only was it the perfect night to see the northern lights in all their glory, but Hannah is an amazing guide and went the extra mile to make sure me and my partner had everything we needed. She came prepared with a cozy fire, stools to sit on, homemade soup and biscuits, feet warmers, warm suits and great conversation. It was like we were friends from the moment she picked us up!

As we couldn't make the usual pick up time and it was our last day in Tromso, Hannah very kindly agreed to pick us up at a time that worked for us and took us on a private tour to see the Aurora, which was spectacular that night. Even without the light show, I'm sure that we would have had a great time anyway thanks to Hannah and her passion for what she does.

In addition to the Northern Lights tour, I went on a road trip with Hannah in the morning. We had done a similar tour before so Hannah took me on a different route to explore new places. She knew exactly where to go and knew so much about the surrounding area that I feel I came back a local expert! The homemade picnic she provided was delicious too.

Hannah and her partner run their small business and it was a delight to see how passionate they are about it. Even being just me in the morning tour or the two of us in the northern lights tour, Hannah still took us out because she put us being able to have this experience as a priority.

Both these tours will stay in our memory forever because of the unforgettable experiences we had and the amazing pictures that were sent to us after the tour. Just incredible! Thank you again, Hannah! We are looking forward to coming back and we will definitely...

We had a fantastic tour with Northern Soul Adventures. We chose them initially because of how helpful they were by email. We had 4 days in Tromsø and they helped us choose which night to take our northern lights tour, and were constantly updating us with forecasts and information to help us choose. Once on the tour we were picked up by Jeff and drove for 1 hour to a beach to set up.

As soon as we arrived there were signs of the northern lights and we were given thermal suits to keep us warm. Jeff helped us to set up our camera and provided a tripod. Straight away we got some nice pictures with his tips. The northern lights got better and better and we were treated to a fantastic show. We were served delicious homemade soup and cookies around a campfire and provided with tea and coffee to keep us warm. Jeff also took some fantastic photos of us in front of the northern lights, and of the lights themselves. These were sent over to us early the next day with no charge.

We felt like Northern Soul Adventures wanted to do everything they could to make it a special trip and it was definitely that. Their highest priority was making sure we had the best experience possible. This was definitely highlighted when we were driving home and started to see some more northern lights. We didn't even need to ask, as Jeff had already pulled over and was out of the van pointing out another fantastic show unfolding in the sky. Overall we had a fantastic tour and could not recommend Northern Soul Adventures more.
