We stayed here 2 nights in November with a 1 night gap in between. We booked 2 rooms for 3 people. We paid a bit more than most place were asking for one triple/night. The rooms were in an interior part of the hotel and very quiet. Except at 7 AM when the staff seemed to think it was appropriate to clean the hall in front or our room. They kept our luggage while we were traveling to Machu Picchu and put us in the same rooms when we returned. ||||The hotel is in a terrific location. On a pedestrian street in the historic center. Just a few blocks from the major plazas and markets. Do not book a hotel to the North-East of the Plaza de Armas as there are loud nightclubs nearby.||||The rooms are clean. Nothing fancy. They have a nice terrace on the third floor with great city views and a table to hang out at. On the lobby floor (floor above street level), there is a large lounge area with tea (and oxygen) available. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was fair. We ate around 9 (which is late) and the eggs were cold and the fruit not replenished. We were in the low season so the only diners. Not sure how the breakfast would compare with more...
Read moreGood location 3 star hotel, but thats where it ends. Our experience was a dark room with internal window, questionable wifi in certain areas of the hotel only; average breakfast, meagre offerings of stale cheese and dry ham and puffed wheat. juices and toast, some fruit; Ordered 2 poached eggs and got 1 boiled egg15 min later, then another day took 15 min inbetween our omelets. (Difficult to communicate with our very limited Spanish and their limited English) The price we paid via Bamba was $250per night which included transfer was way overpriced for this level. I think that was unfair. If you pay $60 per night then all of the above is more acceptable. Also TV either not working or no English channel, all shows dubbed into Spanish. Asked several times but staff unable and unwilling to trouble shoot these issues. Would have been nice to relax at the end of a hectic day with some news or even the World Cup. Most staff friendly especially Marisol, however not all. Noisy rooms. Intermittent hot water for shower, 2 occasions couldnt...
Read moreThe only reason why this hotel is getting any stars is because the staff is friendly and it’s a great location. Honestly, can’t think of any other reason. The airport shuttle is NOT included, (it costs 35 Sols,) the rooms are NOT heated like they will tell you (only if they bring you a plug in heater,) don’t expect ANY sleep because IT IS SO LOUD. You can hear everything inside the hotel and on the street and absolutely no way getting around it... Not to mention the beds are top 5 worst I have ever slept in (woke up with a kink in my neck to prove it.) The rooms are dirty too - The shower has mold art ALL over the ceiling, you have to take a shower and a bath unwillingly because the drain is clogged, I kept finding black hairs in my comforter (don’t use it,) and I don’t know when the last time they cleaned the carpet since it was installed in 1940 something. (It looks pretty old.) The only thing you will be grateful for is a smiling face when you leave and return and you close proximity to a bar to forget...
