Due to a last minute cancelation of our original hotel booking, we chose to stay here for our time in Cusco. It was lovely. It has a family feel. The location makes it convenient to many sightseeing areas, as well as food options. They have an on-site restaurant, and a small convenience store, so we used those most days for meals and any water or snacks. They offer a light breakfast everyday which included a bread, ham, cheese, eggs, fruit, juice, cereal and yogurt. Tea and coffee were available 24 hours. We ate at the restaurant several times, it was always reasonably priced, delicious and portions were big enough to satisfy. The room was large, and the bed comfortable, however felt unfinished. While there was a very large shelving unit, no hangers. No lamps in room, or fan. While the temperature of the room was fine for us, If there was a way to control the heat or ac, we did not locate it. There were a lot of outlets in the room. The bathroom with walkin shower was very nicely appointed. I did not notice shampoo, conditioner or such was provided as we had brought our own. The hotel has a gated entrance, hotel staff available 24 hours per day. The small area where they serve breakfast/tea made a great area for us to spend some time planning our day or just having a card game. The staff were friendly, and helpful. The cost was reasonable for the...
Read moreDue to a booking error we found ourselves without accommodations very last minute for our trip to Peru. I booked this hotel on the way to airport, not quite sure what to expect. Upon arrival the friendly staff and attention to our needs was certainly appreciated. We were provided a room, being told another upper level could be provided the next day. We did not find the move to be necessary as the initial room was perfect for our needs. King sized bed, comfortable with a large bathroom with walkin shower. No shampoo 9r conditioner, no hairdryer. A non issue for us. The room felt a little unfinished with no lamps at bedside, film protecter still on TV. There is a large shelving unit, however no hangers. The bed had a very comfy duvet. If there is a way to control heat or AC in the room we never did find it. Many outlets all around the room. |The hotel offers a breakfast each morning, along with tea and coffee 24 hrs. There is a restaurant connected which we enjoyed most days. We also enjoyed the breakfast area to spend time planning our outings or playing cards in our downtime. |There is an attached convenience store which has a small selection of items, snacks and water available. |Even though this was not our first selection, it turned out to be just what we wanted and needed for our stay. We would definitely return and...
Read moreWe stayed here for 4 days. From the beginning, we felt the warm welcome by the staff. As soon as we arrived, they offered us Mate de Coca, a local herbal tea to help acclimate (it works!).Our rooms were super clean and spacious. We had a king size bed and twin size, which was enough for my family of 4. Bathrooms were clean, and ran hot water, which was a must for us. They kept our rooms clean and offered clean towels upon request. Breakfast was great, a lot to choose from. They even accommodated an earlier breakfast one morning since one of our tours was in the crack of dawn. Overall, our stay at "Hotel Sol del Oriente" was more than we expected. It was safe, and clean. I would be glad to come back here...
