Mr. Ceviche — Restaurant in Distrito de Cusco

We arrived thinking we’d go to a cheap place because of the menu that was shown on google. It is not!! The menu is old. The restaurant is quite expensive and seems like a very touristic place. The waiters are friendly but maybe a little over the top for our taste. In the beginning we asked if the fish is fresh the waiter told us yes. We orderd a grilled trout with quinoa which was very good, a ceviche of trout which was also good and a causa acevichada which we also asked to be with trout. The last one came with white fish instead, we asked about that, because it is a fish from the sea, came out that (obviously) it was frozen. Which was a bit disappointing because we wanted to have the fresh fish only. On top of that the atmosphere wasn’t so nice it’s a cold not cozy place and the boss was running around in his coat which makes the atmosphere...

Disappointing experience. Stressing all the good reviews, we decided to give it a try because we were suggested to eat seafood for the first night in Cusco to get adjusted for the high altitude. We liked ceviche so much in Lima, so we decided to do ceviche again. So disappointed. Long wait to get the waiter each time whether it’s ordering, asking a question, adding a dish or getting the check even though there are only the two of us and another table of two guests. The ceviche is very tasty however very small portion, no more than five or six very small cubes of fish, ten times smaller than what we had in Lima with similar price ($35 vs$45). and the fish is not fresh you can tell from the texture. Excellent Food and Services!!! We don’t speak Spanish at all, luckily we have our waitress Lenny and Paola. They are extremely nice and take their time to explain the meals we were interested. Glad she did that!

We had a mix ceviche as starter, and then I had a lamb tripe soup (I use to have tripes) and my boyfriend had grill octopus.
