MACHUPICCHUBOUTIQUE — Hotel in Machu Picchu

My friend and I were on an organized tour, and the guide booked a room for us in this hotel. Upon arrival, the lady at the reception showed us to our room, which was completely dirty. I complained about the cleanliness, so she offered us a second room.

I asked her if this one had actually been cleaned, and she assured me it had without even checking inside. After taking one step in, I found a cigarette butt on the floor. I went back downstairs to inform her, and only then did she finally call the cleaning service.

After 30 minutes, we entered the room again, but when we checked the bed sheets, they were filthy.

I gathered my belongings and decided to stay at another hotel because this one does not meet basic hygiene standards.

Pleasant stay. Our room (#4) had a view of the raging river along the village. Note: the river is quite noisy in the rainy season. The bed was firm giving us a good rest. The room was clean and the shower was hot. Soap/shampoo & towels were provided. The wifi was excellent (Youtube worked excellently). This is a no-frills kind of place. The nomer “boutique hotel” doesn’t apply, despite the name. Breakfast consisted of apple pieces and 2 croissant-sized breads with optional butter. Coffee was provided through a liquid concentrate (never saw this before). Tea was as usual (tea bags). Hot milk was also provided. Overall: a good place to spend the night. You can leave your bags in a small storage room for your sightseeing...

I'm a frequent traveler. I've never seen such a sly, indifferent hotelier. We booked two rooms through the Hotels app, but when we arrived, they told us they only had one available. They then promised to prepare the other room and let us know, but didn't do so until late. We couldn't stay in the room we paid for, so four of us had to share one. Furthermore, they didn't even refund the room fee. The hotel lady brazenly said, "We arrived at night, but you didn't open the door." Don't book this hotel unless you're staying on the street.
