On my arrival at aguas calientes, as you can imagine, I had built up quite the appetite from my day travelling from Cusco. I pulled up to the train station with my stomach rumbling and mind on overdrive thinking of all the possibilities that I had in front of me. Browsing online I seen a little bistro named palate, the menu looking delicious and the price also agreeable. I walked up eagerly awaiting my order of chicken wings, my wife was on the market for the chicken pizza. We got in and are greeted by a friendly young gentlemen’s who proceeds to pass me our food, he then ask if I was like to offer a tip to which I happily oblige. The staff then offer me a round of applause, which is hindsight seems to be an incredibly sick joke… On our return to our hotel I eat the wings which I must say were delicious, my wife however said that our son who we left back home could have done a better job if we simply left him with the ingredients and told him to make a pizza, and he can even speak yet! I must note at this point that I had not eaten anything else minus a small pastry the previous day, only the takeaway from palate. The next two days after this were a constant cycle of agonising stomach cramps and what I can only describe as aguas calientes instead of regular bowel movements. I was not happy and by far the worst reaction to chicken wangs I eva had. A costly accident as this bout of illness cost me hundreds of dollar changing my...

Cosy atmosphere and nice design, much space and polite service. Worth going up the hill. Possibility of getting 10% discount for posting on Instagram mentioned in the menu. Nobody forced any tricky extra payment. Important: Working, clean and fully equiped toilet ( not that easy to find in this town, toilets here are usually awful). The Best food we ate in Aguas Calientes.
