We walked past this on the way to our hotel and it caught my eye, so we stopped here after an early morning trip up to Machu Picchu. The design of the place is fabulous. Great, cozy areas with pillows and a number of tables. They've only been open a week so there are still a few things being fixed up (i.e. one bathroom door lock was broken and the kitchen is being set up). However, the drinks were great. We had an iced mocacchino and iced cappuccino. Both tasty. Mocacchino made with local cocoa powder and sweetened to a really nice level (not super sweet though, thankfully). Coffee is also more local, I think from Cusco. Prices were maybe on the higher side, between 9-14 Sol for espresso beverages, but I thought worth it for the quality. $7/cup Bay Area / LA coffee shops try to create this experience for us Californians but are too far removed from the source of their product to even compare. Here, the delightful owner / operator actually cups and critiques the local farm products and ensures their organic and sustainable techniques in person. The coffee here is exceptional, showcasing Peru’s up and coming artisan coffee scene. They’ll happily serve you whatever fancy espresso drink you want but, I implore you, ask for a pour over cup from the local beans. Please don’t ruin these incredible flavors with cream and...
