My husband and I planned to stay here for 3 nites, but only stayed for one nite. While the room was large and had a great view of the two main Inca sites in the village, a sleepless nite prompted us to move to another hostel the next day. The room was clean but sparse, but the bathroom was not clean, with long black hairs in the shower and scum in the handbasin. Our stay did not start off well, firstly, although the main man in the hostel is very friendly, we had to battle with him to get a second bath towel, he could not understand why a couple would need a towel each! Having started to unpack, he then announced that there was no key to our bedroom door, but he hoped the lock could be changed the next day. Off we went to bed around 11 pm hoping to get a good nites sleep! Alas, the horrendous noise started around mid-nite, and continued throughout the nite - our bedroom - on the second floor was right below an extremely noisy water pump on the roof, the pump located right above the bathroom vent. It was like having a kango hammer in the room with us. We were unable to close the bathroom door as the electrical wire connected to the shower was run from the bedroom! When we told the guy who runs the place the next morning that we were moving out, he was not at all surprised. We asked him why he didn't go an do something about the pump, but his response was one of ambivalence. He did apologise to us about the noise! I would not recommend this as a place to stay, when we looked for an alternative place, we found a much nicer hostel for...
Read moreThe room and bathroom were clean. Right in the main plaza and good prices compared to other places for the area.
The WiFi did not work 90% of the time, only working a few minutes late at night, mainly saying “unable to connect”. I had to use my phone outside of the building to even use maps or google.
No breakfast offered.
No view from the room. That was ok. Daytime adventures will give all the views. We just needed a place to sleep.
For those sensitive to loud noise, this is not the place. The neighbors (literally 2 feet from our window in the second floor) are up until 11pm cleaning or talking. You can hear noise from upstairs and toilets flushing, and footsteps in the stairway at 5-6am. You can hear everything. It made it very difficult for me to sleep.
I’m sure something bit my hand during the night as I woke up with swollen and itchy fingers, and my boyfriend had red spots on his arm. There was a spider in the room the night before. The balcony and sliding doors are not sealed/100% connected to the wall, so there were open parts to the outside (hence being able to hear everything outside and the possibility of small insects entering).
80% of the time there was no one at the reception desk. We needed to call the phone number on the wall for someone to come out and check us in. The son is...
Read moreI highly recommend this place. Really clean and cosy The host was friendly and attentive. We were a family waiting in the middle of the nigth for a near by hostel to open the doors after we advised late arrival (They never waited for us). Lucky us Inti Killa host was around to save us from waiting longer....
