I can imagine that this hotel was once very nice but clearly standards have dropped and corners cut. The rooms were spacious but dusty, the walls and ceilings were stained and the bathrooms and corridors were grubby with missing tiles. I stayed in the Punta Eskina room and my parents in Punta Coco above me. These rooms are beside the not so “quiet” road; While it is not busy with traffic, there was lots of loud talking and dogs barking late into the night. Furthermore, during frequent blackouts, the deafening generator is right beside those rooms and the smell of diesel fills the room when it runs too. A front desk staff member was initially helpful when I raised my dissatisfaction with the room; I was moved to a very small room, which was a part of a vacant suite; they would not even let me use the whole room. Thankfully it was quiet enough to sleep, unfortunately in that room the internet was so bad it was unusable and there is no other signal either. When I spoke to the supervisor the following morning, he denied that there was anything wrong with the rooms even when I pointed out all the dust and mold patches. His only response was “we have good reviews, nobody ever complains, you will just find whatever you want to find”. He said he would talk to his manager but refused to provide me with a means of contacting management myself. When I later inquired about contacting the owner, he warned me that “the owner is a politician” as if to threaten me! There were a few different breakfast options, it was pretty basic but tasty enough. I decided to check out two days earlier than my original booking, after much discussion I was offered a partial refund which was more than I expected or requested; any small gesture of compensation would have been appreciated. To our surprise they expected us to check out the very next day, another heated discussion ensued.
It is a pity that the defensive and dismissive response of one supervisor to my initial complaints resulted in the escalation of our dissatisfaction. It would probably not require much investment and effort to breathe new life into this probably once charming little boutique hotel. However, based on how they respond to customer feedback, I doubt they will take any action to make improvements. There are so many cleaner, quieter and better options on this island, I would definitely try somewhere...

They claimed that they would've helped me if I told them right away. I messaged them on the app & I came the minute they opened, but they said I should've told the guard. What guard? We didn't see a guard & weren't told there was one.|The manager reached out & said other rooms did not complain & their policy is to tell the guard that there was no information about. Read moreSo I booked this hotel last Oct 2019. Maybe because of its location? I read reviews and mainly they were not so good except they said if you are looking for a quiet location. ||I booked for 6 nights and it ripped my bank account of 48,000 pesos and a bit more. ||When arrived, we don’t even know where the front desk was.
