I really don’t recommend this hotel. First, the room “Mare” was not maintained for long time and was very dirty, even disgusting. Everything is obsolete, the paintings were not refreshed since years, the bathroom is full of moisture, the joints are dark brown, the tiles are damaged, the shower head is defective, the bathroom fan is defective and wakes up the one who sleeps in the night. I swear the pictures are real and have been taken on 23.7.2023. Additionally, this hotel requests you to sign a document, like all other hotels, and usually no one reads it. But me, I always read it, this document contains a sentence saying “Housekeeping is limited to pre-scheduled times to limit contact as per Department of Tourism…” making me understand that they’ll clean the room when we are not using it. In reality, they use this trick to avoid cleaning the room. And when you complaint, they tell you that the staff already left. It’s a scandal! Additionally, the way to reach the hotel is in very bad condition and particularly uncomfortable while reaching by taxi. Also, there is not mobile phone network in the room. I don’t think the rating of this hotel is credible.

What a beautiful place. When we arrived at the hotel, immediately we’ve been welcomed with a beautiful smile and an appreciated room’s upgrade. The apartment in the top floor is amazing! Huge balcony, all the apartment with a real wooden floor, wonderful bathroom… spacious living room… Very clean and well maintained. All the people working here are amazing, and of course also the 2 wonderful dogs…. Located at the end of station 1, allowing you to have quite nights to rest, but with 10 minutes of walk on the beach you can easily find the full, colored, noisy, crowded life of Station 2. The best of both worlds. Highly recommended.

We checked into one of the two suites and absolutely loved it! Waking up to views of the palm trees and beach were an absolute delight every morning. Its location is on the quieter side of Station 1 which means lesser people trying to get in the way when you’re trying to get that perfect sunset shot. The complimentary breakfast was tasty. Activities are are available upon request at a fee. We felt that the room was bigger than the average when we were doing our research back then, and to have that balcony overlooking the beach was a huge plus! Would highly recommend this resort and looking forward to be back in the near future!

I can imagine that this hotel was once very nice but clearly standards have dropped and corners cut. The rooms were spacious but dusty, the walls and ceilings were stained and the bathrooms and corridors were grubby with missing tiles. I stayed in the Punta Eskina room and my parents in Punta Coco above me. These rooms are beside the not so “quiet” road; While it is not busy with traffic, there was lots of loud talking and dogs barking late into the night. Furthermore, during frequent blackouts, the deafening generator is right beside those rooms and the smell of diesel fills the room when it runs too. A front desk staff member was initially helpful when I raised my dissatisfaction with the room; I was moved to a very small room, which was a part of a vacant suite; they would not even let me use the whole room. Thankfully it was quiet enough to sleep, unfortunately in that room the internet was so bad it was unusable and there is no other signal either. When I spoke to the supervisor the following morning, he denied that there was anything wrong with the rooms even when I pointed out all the dust and mold patches. His only response was “we have good reviews, nobody ever complains, you will just find whatever you want to find”. He said he would talk to his manager but refused to provide me with a means of contacting management myself. When I later inquired about contacting the owner, he warned me that “the owner is a politician” as if to threaten me! There were a few different breakfast options, it was pretty basic but tasty enough. I decided to check out two days earlier than my original booking, after much discussion I was offered a partial refund which was more than I expected or requested; any small gesture of compensation would have been appreciated. To our surprise they expected us to check out the very next day, another heated discussion ensued.

It is a pity that the defensive and dismissive response of one supervisor to my initial complaints resulted in the escalation of our dissatisfaction. It would probably not require much investment and effort to breathe new life into this probably once charming little boutique hotel. However, based on how they respond to customer feedback, I doubt they will take any action to make improvements. There are so many cleaner, quieter and better options on this island, I would definitely try somewhere...

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. I checked in on Thursday & left in the middle of the night on Friday to switch to another hotel.|I booked this hotel for many reasons:|- view of ocean, which was minimal|- close to beach, which was still a walk (not easy for older people) to go to the main beach|- nice room, which had blood sheet stains on arrival|- close area, which was not the safest & not near other things like other hotels|I had a very busy wedding weekend & it was such an issue to go back to my hotel room after long days to see problems.|On Thursday, it was after hours so we let the minor problems slide, such as removing the blood sheet stains.|On Friday, I came to the room around 10:30PM after a long day to have NO AC & NO WORKING LIGHTS. The TV & plugs still worked so we were not sure what the issue was. We did experience on & off power outages that we were aware the island was experiencing, but this was not it as it was different with some things working. We hoped it would come back on, but after 2 hours of sleep & sweat it did not.|I sent them a message on the app & we called another hotel that was 24/7 asking if we could go there. Imagine having to pack your things in Philippines heat with no lights on & having to make this switch at 2AM.|I came back at 8AM when they open on Saturday morning & I had to go get ready for a wedding. They claimed that they would've helped me if I told them right away. I messaged them on the app & I came the minute they opened, but they said I should've told the guard. What guard? We didn't see a guard & weren't told there was one.|The manager reached out & said other rooms did not complain & their policy is to tell the guard that there was no information about. They did not offer any solutions.|There are much better hotel options that provide what you need. Trust me, I stayed at another hotel. It was 100000x better...

So I booked this hotel last Oct 2019. Maybe because of its location? I read reviews and mainly they were not so good except they said if you are looking for a quiet location. ||I booked for 6 nights and it ripped my bank account of 48,000 pesos and a bit more. ||When arrived, we don’t even know where the front desk was. We figured out that you need to climb the stairs to check in (no elevator) and Ofcourse with your luggages with you, we have 4... |I was guessing, the old woman that was there aside from the front desk young lady, was the owner.. |No hi, no hello..|A young men helped us to our room and it was in the other building where you need to walk in a very narrow alley and climb some more stairs.|Room was huge, but the color, the looks and the beddings are cheap and old.. and the door was the weirdest and oldest, that was very tricky to lock.|the view from our room was partially the beach but it was not nice because all you can see are fishing boats.|It was also located in a very end of station 1, where restaurants are far and expensive. Also, going to the hotel was a headache because Of road constructions.|To sum it up, there was a dark, heavy feeling with the owner/manager, the room and the location. And also, it’s way too expensive for what it has to offer. I would say, it’s not for everyone.|WE DECIDED NOT TO STAY! And we did not try to ask any refund because owner looked like very hard to deal with. |I will never recommend...
