This house has seen better days. It must have been built in the late eighties or early nineties and it has not seen any substantial refurbishment since then. Although the location is on the best part of White beach and the terrace with jacuzzi is a nice feature, the facilities overall are now decrepit. We stayed here for a total of eight nights. One problem is certainly the access to the house which is quite difficult, with steps made of slippery sand bags to bridge the huge gap between the sand level and the actual steps of the house. When there is high tide the sea water reaches the steps of the house. Outside the entrance there are plastic pipes (probably sewage) and rubbish entangled in the exposed roots of the palms. The house consists of three self contained apartments, one on each floor. Each of the first two floors accomodate 4 people, while the third floor accomodates 2 people. All the kitchen equipment is very basic and very old. The bathrooms are all run down and unbearably smelly. The only new parts are the toilet bowls. Showers are very basic with only one jet of water from above (no hand held showers). Most showers have defective water emission. Bidet hoses are missing on the third floor and in one of the bathrooms downstairs. The room on the top is infested by small flies attracted by the light so it's impossible to keep the lights on at night for more than 15 minutes. The generator, when in function, produces a terrible noise and the staircase at the back of the house smells constantly of fuel. There is no possibility of beach front chairs as there is only a smallish lanai furnished with sofa beds with torn upholstery and infested by ants. Actually all the ground floor is infested by ants. Cleanliness is superficial and the rooms are not sistematically cleaned. The wifi is generally extremely slow and erratic, while it doesn't reach the top floor at all. At PHP 30,000 per day in low season I think it is bad value for money and would...
Read moreWe stayed for about a week here. The location is great as it’s a 15 minute walk to DMall and station 2 but down the quiet end of the beach, and also close to Diniwid beach. The place itself is incredibly spacious with lots of lounging areas. AC’s worked great and adequate kitchen facilities. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely however our rooms / inside was not cleaned during our stay and we were unsure if that was meant to be included especially considering the hefty price. The sliding doors are rusty and very hard to open and close. The spa/hot tub only runs cold water and is filled up with fresh water before your stay and then it just sits there until you leave when it is drained and cleaned - no filter or chlorination so its essentially dirty bath water after a day or two. It was overall nice however you could pay similar price and have access to a pool or clean spa with housekeeping and possibly breakfast included at many other...
Read moreStayed at Mayumi penthouse a few nights & loved it! The furniture and decor of the terrace is truly beautiful and comfortable. I love the jacuzzi and used it every night before going to bed. It was so relaxing to watch the stars while getting a hydromassage every night. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed, including Nespresso and an Osterizer. The staff are the best! Very friendly, helpful, always smiling and they even shop and cook for you for a small fee. They bought tiger prawns at Talipapa and cooked it with garlic butter...YUMMY! Another day, we bought a huge cuttle fish, fresh off the boat from a fisherman and the staff cooked it 3 ways: BBQ, adobo and fried. We enjoyed the beautiful White Beach every morning and sunsets from the beach lounges downstairs. Elena the owner was very kind and a great host, always making sure we were happy. We have fabulous memories of Mayumi. Highly...
