For the price per night, this is a great hotel, the hotel looks new and has a lot of potential. With only a 10 minute walk to Alona beach, the location of the hotel is great too.
One stairs up we found our room and the 1st floor (or 2nd for americans), at first glance the room looks amazing. It looks very new and clean, however if you look a little more closely we were not very satisfied about how clean our room was. One thing was also that you're not allowed to place towels on the floor and you will get charged if you do and get towels dirty. However the mat on the shower floor is or at least looks dirty and also nearly doesn't hold any water.
The airconditioner is in korean, there is a paper translating the buttons, but that doesn't allow you to see which setting you have set. The aircon works poorly and even though we set it at 16 degrees celcius, I don't believe it ever got below 25 degrees in the room. Adding to that you're only given, and allowed 1 room key which is also required to get power in the room. This means we also couldn't pre-cool our room. There is also a mini fridge available, but as power turns off when you're not in the room it is pretty much useless. You're not allowed to eat and drink in the room, if you do so and stain something, you will be charged.
In our 3 night stay we didn't receive any housekeeping which for us kind of confirms why the rooms are not so clean. Also when looking underneath the beds we found garbage that wasn't ours.
The breakfast contains of a menu of 5 choices, I believe there were 3 or 4 Filipino breakfasts and an American breakfast. My daughter and I were happy to take the Filipino breakfast everyday and really enjoyed this. My wife (Filipina) took the Filipino ones but was dissatisfied each time.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. All in all I still give a 4 star review, given that the price is right for the room provided. However the disfunctioning airco and absence of housekeeping nearly made me give 3...
Read moreI’m not sure where to begin on our experience at ‘Fun’ hotel. It has to be known that it is currently a complete building site, with loud tools and drilling starting as early as 7:45 am. The noise doesn’t stop all day, and is exhausting to be around. As a by product of this, the reception and lobby area is completely filled with dust and dirt. There was no communication from the staff or the manager that this would be happening and also no apology until we complained later on in the day.
It was also very dirty in our room. I actually went to put on the slippers they gave us in the room, but was disgusted to find out it was filled with dust and dirt. Cleanliness is non existent, cobwebs and dust on the shelves and under beds. Not to mention the bathroom - a persistent issue of the shower drain not emptying, nearly flooding the whole bathroom and was failed to be fixed. Also, the toilet was leaking, which was disgusting. Ants everywhere.
The rooms are supposed to be new but the quality of the fixings and tiling was very poor, shower and toilet not sealed properly and remained dirty and leaking.
Personally, the biggest issue I had was the security. I was asked to give a 1000 peso deposit for security, but as I didn’t have it on me, I gave in my passport as a security deposit instead. when I went to hand in the cash and retrieve my passport the next day, I found it just lying on top of the cash register open for anyone to take. This is extremely dangerous and I can’t recommend anyone to visit this hotel.
In 3 months of travelling, I haven’t left a single bad review but I felt like I had to leave it in this case as it was such a bad experience. The least relaxing place you could be, don’t waste your time on this hotel and move on to somewhere that actually cares about...
Read moreOne of the worst visits I have ever had. Im currently in dispute with the hotel.
From the moment I walked in the staff was unprofessional, rude and just had no idea on how to treat their guests.
It all started when they told me that check in was at 2pm. I was there 1:30 waiting in front of the lobby. When it was 1:57pm I kindly asked to get my room. They said I had to wait until 3pm. Which they could have told me WHILE I was sitting waiting. Since I could have gone to a cafe to work.
Instead I asked I could just put my luggage in the room while the cleaner were finishing the bathroom but they said no. And we had an argument. It ended up with her being done 2:10pm which was okay.
But from that moment they been laughing as soon as I got to the reception, talking about me (my Filipino friend actually asked them why and could hear them talking trash about me). Then I asked for the managers contact information and they would not give it to me. They were so rude and told me that I could send an email to their mail which is supported by the same ignorant workers in the lobby.
They also refused to give me 2 sets of keys which I don’t understand why.
I will never again stay there and that is thanks to the girls in the reception who are, without doubt, the worst receptionists I have ever encountered and I...
