Have been planning on eating here for a few months now. The signage from the street really grabs your attention.
Wasn't really satisfied with the food. The meats were just ok. Some were too lean to the point that the dishes became bland to the taste. You can even tell from the smell (or lack of it). I just didn't smell the aroma that one savors while cooking meat. The flavors were all over the place. What was supposed to be spicy was actually sweet.
Service was just ok. Or at least the servers tried their best. It took a very long time for our table and grills to be set up. Probably understaffed. The servers were cheerful nonetheless.
My main complaint is about the surroundings. The idea is great. Open air cooking in the time of covid. Lots of problems arise from this though.
Firstly, it's dark under the tent at night. The far side of the table is not well lit. That poses a problem when dealing with something that can burn/injure you. Second, since the floor is covered with rocks/gravel, you can never really make the tables stable. The grills are table top varieties so wobbling is rampant. It's also very tricky not to spill the marinade of the meats because of this. Third, they use plastic water bottles. From the physical shape of the containers, they have invariably came into direct contact with the grills. Who's to say they are still safe to use? Fourth, while in the middle of our meal, my companions and I got a whiff of cat feces. It lasted until the end of our meal. We tried looking for the culprit but it was nowhere to be found. Lastly, the ambience was very concerning. The person who greeted you was the freelance parking attendant. Not sure if he was affiliated with the establishment. Probably not. I didn't see any security guards around. I got the sense that it wasn't very safe to leave your belongings unattended. There was an unmasked kid selling Sampaguita that walked up to us. All of us were eating so we were unmasked as well. There was a young adult selling biscuits from his backpack to help him pay for his education. Was his bag even checked? It's as if anyone could just freely go in and out of the establishment.
I mean if people could just walk in and out, how hard could it be for a cat to just visit and...
Read moreNothing special with their food, service was okay, place was huge.
Dined around 8pm on a Tuesday night, not a lot of customers. We were seated right away.
Soup tasted like those you'd get at your local pares stalls; it had beef fat that tasted really bad but the soup alone was refreshing. Japchae tasted like a typical japchae, lacks sesame oil though. Egg on top of the japchae was bland. Steamed egg was served piping hot but was very bland. Chicken wings were tasty, served on room temp. The chicken they used looked really huge, it was tasty but I don't like the fact that the wings were too big. Fish cakes were okay but generally bland. Cucumber salad/pickled cucumber was definitely not for me. Sushi rolls with crunchy wonton wrapper and canned tuna(?) on top was fine, not something I'd come back for though. Potato marble was fine, sauce was good. Lettuce with vinaigrette was good. Kimchi was tasty. Plain meat tasted like plain meat, nothing amusing. They had a lot of marinated meat but not one stood out, it all tasted very generic. The thicker cuts of meat were too tough when it was cooked, quality is definitely not the same with other Kbbq restos. Worst part would definitely be eating the shrimp. Shrimp itself was okay, smaller in size compared to other restos, but it was still somehow fresh - at least some of them? We did not overcook the shrimp but some of them were hard to peel, some were easy though. Peeling the shrimp with plastic fork, spoon, and wooden chopsticks was hell. Lastly, the cheese, reviews I saw on social media said their cheese was fantastic, however it did not even tasted like real cheese. To put it simply, their cheese tasted like a diluted quickmelt cheese that had additional artificial flavoring mixed with a water and a small amount of milk. The quality of cheese is not something you'd expect at a restaurant that offers 499 PHP for unli-Kbbq, it tasted similar to Kbbq places where you only had to pay 199 or 299 PHP.
Service was alright, one was very attentive and did not mess up any of our orders, was not able to get their name but if you'll dine, you'll know who I'm talking about. Others were....... fine, idk.

Read moreA new korean dining experience at Quezon City within Tomas Morato. This new establishment boast premium samgyupsal cuts and marinades that you can enjoy on both indoor and outdoor (al-fresco) setting. Though since MECQ, outdoor dining is only allowed but make no mistake, this Korean-owned resto has taken much consideration and time to create a very welcoming place to enjoy grilling outdoors with pleasant and relaxing but simple landscapes. The outdoor table and chairs has its own sun shade and has ample spacing in between following the health protocol guidelines. They offer a wide variety of meats (Pork and Beef), korean sidedishes is alot too (chapjae is too oily though). Taste is above average than what you normally get. Both plain and marinated cuts has its own unique and pleasant flavor. They only recently opened last 04.17.21 so if your dining, you need to be a little patient since their staff from my experience has not yet properly grasps the ins and outs as it is hard to order and request assistance but hopefully this will improve in the coming weeks once they became tenured. Parking is no issue as they have exclusive slots in front of thier property. Payments accepted is Cash or GCash as of now.
