Multitap Haven and Hell. So there was this one time (OK OK, more then once it happened) when I came over for a pint, but you know how it is with multiple taps. I am coming over and I mind you they do have some good selection of drought beer, backed up by a nice selection of bottled ones in a fridge, and usually few really rare (expensive ones) too. So I had a pint or three when my eye got caught by the imperial stout on tap (they sell those thick ones in 50cl, 30cl and 15cl). I was in a no nonsense mood that day. I have ordered a generous 50cl of an imperial stout, and that is no BS 3% lager, it is a full bodied monster of a beer. Some wines are shy as it comes at you in range of 12 ,and more ,% of alcohol. The bartender, a friendly one too, tried to convince me that it is no joke. But boy did I listen? Hell no, I was actually invincible that night. I finished this one and another one (bottle shared with a friendly owner of a craft brewery whom I just met at a bar) ...
Long story short... stop reading, get your real life experience. Go there and enjoy. Lovely crowd of misfits. A bartenders ranging from that 70's show , through IT crowd, and ending at people crazy enough to be a supporting role at Kevin Smith's movie as they are way to crazy to take a lead ... that would bring it to much towards Tim Burton.
Almost forgot .... PICKLE RICK! There is Pickle Rick if you have an eye for details. Wubba...
Read moreterrible service & super rude!
have never been to a bar where i had to place a deposit for the glass when i am dining IN the bar, within complete sight of the bartenders. they immediately assume customers are going to secretly steal their glasses?
they only informed of the 10 PLN/glass deposit after pouring the beer. i didn’t have any cash and had to pay it using my foreign card.
initially the male bartender said they would refund in cash but later the female bartender said they would only refund my card and spoke to me in a very condescending way that they would reverse the transaction but it would take 3 days. still have not received the refund after 5 days.
what a crappy experience.
edit: responding to the owner - there were less than 10 people sitting in the premises. i was the only person ordering at the bar. it was not crowded at all. and the rude bartender said ‘it will take 3 days, don’t u know how banks work?’ now, you are saying 7...
Read moreThis place was at the forefront of the rise of craft beer to power in Gdansk, and remains a melting pot of brew connoisseurs and drinkers not yet initiated, all of them entangled in the boozy spectacle of finest beers this world has to offer, spilling generously out of shaky hands.
It is a testament to this boozer's mystic power and relevance that I return here every time I promise myself to explore other venues. It's on par with similar bars in terms of comfort (allright), decor (meh) and service (helpful and keen) and good enough for a random session but if your evening is guided by your love of beer this is THE place to visit.
You shall encounter long time patrons greeted by their first names, knowledgeable staff, prices (unfortunately) appropriate to the quality of the alcohol served and a variety of great beer, Polish and otherwise. And a decent espresso machine to serve you a shot of sober-me-up java in the...
